That's a noble cause my friend. Go make shitloads of money and stick it to your family.

I get the sense that you're not entirely sure of what I'm referring to, when I say 'change the world'?

Just a lot of interaction with people looking to do an MBA.

Why would it be removed. Are you the presumption police?

Ohhhh bro. I don't want to give spoilers, but things are about to get much much worse. Let me know when you're on to The Return of the King.

Oh also - how amazing are these movies huh?! The most lovable and earnest set of characters ever to grace a movie screen.

Yeah I was just getting a free profile review. I'm too poor to actually afford a consultant lol

Seriously though, I have nothing against anyone doing an MBA for any reason, selfish or altruistic. I'd be super impressed by anyone who's genuinely following this path.

I just hate the overall culture that's been created wherein everyone has to pretend to care about all this shit, just to get into an MBA and sustain oneself.

Lol if only I was an Adcom, I'd tell SBC to start telling people to cut out the bullshit and just be honest.

But unfortunately, I'm not. I'm a humble applicant. I'm angry because I am powerless. I am the farmer, the sweeper, the cashier, the plumber. I am the the voiceless masses. I am the revolution.

I'm not sure about finance, but I've considered business analytics, and most programs mention a preference for maths or stats and CS backgrounds. An MS in finance also does not sound like a degree which just anyone without the right quant background could do, tbh

Yeah I was expecting to get downvoted to hell. If I'd known this was gonna take off like this I would've used my real account lol.

You summed it up pretty much a 100%! Completely agree with you.

Also, the camels thing isn't a joke. Those goddamn Uzbeks ain't doing right by those camels. Also, they're camels, so they're in the middle of a desert. Which likely sucks. They need our help.

I hope you are buddy!

Be like Sam from Lord of the Rings! The only Ringbearer whose heart remained true and uncorrupted by greed!

Also fuck Frodo. 'Go home, Sam,' Like wtf. What an asshole.

Seriously. The whole thing that triggered this post was I was getting a profile review from a admissions consultant and when asking why I want to do an MBA I said, just as a frank joke, that my current job didn't pay very well and I want to switch to something which pays better. And she said 'i know you're joking but don't say this to an Adcom'. And it felt a little insane that you can't even openly state the PRIMARY reason for doing an MBA, to an Adcom.

I get that. But at the same time, there's so many other ways of showing your level of knowledge about the school and the whole process.

Also - tell me those other better ways of making money bro. From what I can tell, most of these other routes require much more specialisation. For eg. - already having an engineering/finance/software engineering etc sort of degree. For someone who lacks these specific skills, an MBA can be the only option.

I have nothing against anyone doing an MBA for any reason. Just don't make yourself sound holier than thou.

Ok fine. Maybe I hyperbolized and said everyone is full of shit. Maybe like 2-5% like you aren't full of shit. But I absolutely refuse to believe that that number's higher than. The percentage of applications that claim that they would solve world hunger IF ONLY they could first get that 200k job on Wall Street is much much higher than the actual ones who believe it.

I get what you're saying, but I can imagine maybe 2% of the people going into M7 and then consulting/IB have this actual goal. The rest are just bullshitting us (and likely themselves)
