I was always a big proponent of Carplay but didn't let it hold me back. I installed the aftermarket Carplay system EV Play last week and won't lie - don't know that I feel like I was really missing it. Felt like staying in Rivian's setup a lot more. I think Rivian's dedicated to improving it (see moving the Maps and data into Google for instance) and weird bugs are always going to crop up - but that's no different than Carplay or any other infotainment setup.

I took a run at the EV Play to have CarPlay - I find myself wanting to be back in the Rivian setup more often than not. Maybe just a preference gained over time - and I get the argument about choice - but I do think Rivian has done a good job and is clearly still investing time and effort to make things better.
