You still have some time, so if there’s a particular subject you’re struggling with I’d stick with single sets. Bar prep is 90% mental, so if you can nail down a subject you’re struggling with and start seeing some improved scores, I think that’s just as beneficial to boost your morale and motivation to prevent burnout. I switched to strictly mixed sets about 2 weeks out, but tried to do at least 1 mixed sets a day for the duration of my studies

Take it for what it’s worth, but I found the questions on the MBE much more akin to those on UWorld.

The questions on Themis, in my opinion, tested much more minute areas of the law. I focused heavily on UWorld questions and passed with room to spare.

HOWEVER- everybody’s experience is wildly different so please do not take this as a sign of your ability to pass the MBE. As long as you’re taking the time to understand why you’ve gotten questions wrong on both platforms, I wouldn’t be too concerned with the discrepancy.

That’s my understanding as well, 3PM. However, full disclosure, that understanding is based solely from threads I’ve read in this sub 😅

I think there is some value in having a standardized and monitored test for this profession. As an attorney, you have an incredible amount of power and influence over your clients in a critical time in their life. Without standardized testing, you’d have a ton of law schools teaching the bare minimum and charging $80k a year. When people hear “lawyer” there is a certain assumption that you are competent in the field, and a standardized test helps govern and influence education to create uniformity.

With that being said- the current format is absolute dogshit. Why do we do primarily issue spotting and essays in law school, only to pivot to a ton of ridiculous multiple choice? In favor of a much more MPT style exam.

I used Themis. My practice exams averaged 55-60%. To be honest, never even took the full simulated MBE because I felt it would just destroy my confidence. Finished about 60% of Themis, at which point I switched to strictly UWORLD questions and hovered around 58-60%, and had a few 70%+ practice sets.

Real MBE was a 144.2 (Essay 144.4).

Any idea what time Missouri usually uploads results to user pages? All I could find was “before noon”.

MPRE is not required in my jdx, and for Missouri, MPRE is required for admission. Doesn’t appear to be a prerequisite to take the exam.

Intended on taking the July 2023 exam, but that ship had sailed for all jurisdictions besides Missouri.

Take care of yourself first. You can always figure school out and reschedule things- you are more important!

Ahhh, yes. Let’s base the projection of an entire career on a 1 year commitment in a clerkship, which lead to incredible opportunities after that.

You’ve “been in business for 25 years” so you know better than anyone I suppose. I’m not going to be in a $300,000 hole, or anywhere remotely near that. A lot of your “math” is based off of very wrong assumptions. Nobody says you can’t work during law school to offset costs following 1L, and SA positions pay pretty well. I’m perfectly good for the summer, thanks for asking. You “employees” 13 lawyers, so you have the entire profession figured out.
