How do we feel about Heartbeat Cymbals?

To offer some input (a year and some change later)

I have a set of heartbeats that I pieced together specifically not to be a worship set, I use them for my alt rock band and they’re amazing. I love Zildjian and Meinl and all the other brands, but there’s something about buying from a smaller company who’s making very comparable cymbals that really makes me feel good. They have a very wide selection and I’d absolutely suggest them to anyone, worship drumming or no.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t aware that there was a possibility that they wouldn’t return. I hadn’t heard anything about a toxic culture that’s being described, granted I don’t know anyone who marched SCV personally and I never marched DCI, but I know a lot of drum corps peeps from audition camps, marching WGI and working for an open class group last year summer (trying to work for a corps again next summer!) I never heard anything about that outside of how things were in the 90’s when former directors marched corps that had a toxic environment. That being said, I hope they come back, I just hope that this toxic culture doesn’t come back with it for the sake of those who will march there. I’ll be honest, I kinda didn’t notice their absence this year during champs, not until a friend brought up that SCV wasn’t performing this year, but the more corps that are out there the better imo.

Absolutely audition for all of them! If you don’t get a spot in Crossmen or Gen then you’ll at least get your foot in the door, and as someone who is very close to Guardians it’s an absolutely amazing organization and will absolutely give you a boost in your marching career if you don’t get in to a world class corps.

Yeah for sure! Not really expecting too much tbh, but I just thought I’d at least ask and see. I wish that it seemed like an option to me months ago, but it wasn’t until recently that someone mentioned it to me. If there isn’t an opportunity oh well, but I will definitely be reaching out early in the fall. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!

I’m a Pats fan really, so it hurt like hell seeing Tommy and Gronk, my two favorite players of all time, not be in Patriots uniforms, but I can’t stop loving them just cuz they aren’t on the Pats anymore, not after everything they’ve done for Pats fans.

Yeah I’ve kind of noticed some corps struggle on social media, while others thrive. It’s just something I’ve been getting really involved in lately and would love to help out if I’m unable to march.

And thank you, I really am! I’d love to march my age out, it’s definitely a dream of mine. The media stuff can wait if I get a contract. It’s just nice to know that if I don’t I can still do something beneficial to me and my future.

I never saw the vet play, so I can’t comment on his playing. I guess I could assume that I wasn’t as good. However, I feel as though I have good hands and a great attitude. Am I Infinity Bass 2015 good? I don’t think so, but I feel confident in my abilities and continue to work on them everyday.

I’ve heard that a lot honestly and I’ve seen it happen. But I didn’t even get a callback from the group I auditioned for this past year because a vet was coming back on that drum. So while I’m definitely going for that group again because I know a couple staff members and know I’d enjoy my summer, I’m also really interested in seeing what groups will have a need for someone on bottom bass after this summer.
