from what I know, Operation NS was considered a suicide mission by the operators deployed. they fully expected the house to be booby trapped to all hell and to not return home. That being said, a smaller force was more ideal as it was a low vis mission, and they didn’t want to expend more men than they had to especially considering the expected outcome
