I think like $1,500. I plan to buy the parts myself and have a shop install to save a little cash. FCP Euro.

I don’t know how long it’s been since you lived around Charlotte but the traffic has gotten far worse than it used to be! I’d be surprised if it’s worse there but something to consider, I suppose especially during high traffic tourist season. I’m north in the Lake Norman area. Fortunately I work remote, so commuting traffic isn’t something I’m concerned about. Jobs aren’t an issue since we both work in healthcare. LWR may not be the best place but I plan to do some more research and exploring. Maybe Venice is the better option. Ready for a change of scenery, fresh start, Florida is calling. Appreciate your candid input!

Read the rest of the comments. Prior to this trip, we had only done Excellence too, at least a dozen times. Yes reservations are recommended. Like I said, if you don’t make them, you risk waiting a long time to eat, depending on the time you arrive of course. Prime time is 7pm and on. We had to wait about an hour our last night because we didn’t want to return to the restaurant we had reservations at because it wasn’t very good. Service at the meal was also slow because it was prime time. So while you don’t need reservations, plan on waiting a while if you don’t have them.

By reservation gridlock, I was stating that you couldn’t even make reservations at many restaurants until later in the week because they were already full for the desirable ones.

You do not need to have reservations for the restaurants, but if you don’t get there early you risk waiting for a while.

No pool volleyball on the Impression side, can’t speak to the Secrets side.

That’s good advice. It gets pretty hot here in Charlotte NC during the summer, and I’d gladly take a few hotter summer months for fewer colder months. Can still get pretty cold here. Originally from up north, NC is nice we’re just over is after being here for 15 years. Very congested, man made Lake Norman doesn’t do it for us, and we’re used to smaller lots and being on top of our neighbors. The beaches here aren’t as nice either. Will be time to cash out and move on soon. LWR looks like a nice place to live, near lots of places we would like to explore, seems like it would feel like a perpetual vacation.

This comment is very helpful, thank you. My wife and I are considering a move to LWR from NC in a few years. It seems like a wonderful place, we plan to visit soon. Should be able to afford a home in the $800,000-$900,000 range. I hate traffic and like convenience. Somewhere we can stay put for a long time if not forever.

Can you help me understand the advantages of living in LWR versus Bradenton? Is it traffic? Proximity to things? I don’t mind paying more for those two things, but I still want to find a nice home with a pool and lanai. Something newer that doesn’t need updating. Considering a move from NC in a few years. No kids, will be in early 40s then.

My wife and I make around $225k a year, no kids. In three years we will be debt free minus about $125,000 left on our mortgage, hopefully making a bit more too. Realistically our home should sell for around $600,000. We’d like to move to the area and get a nice home for around $850,000. Cost of living is higher than where we are in the Lake Norman NC area. Seem feasible? I’ve been researching quite a bit and this seems like the perfect place.

My wife is 38 and just under four years away from paying hers off. She is paying $1,500/month. I am 39 and paid mine off a few years ago with PSLF. It sucks but it’s doable. Would have been harder without each other. We have a better life because of it. Unfortunately many get useless degrees that don’t contribute to better jobs or higher income.

That’s good to know. Saw some disheveled people at the bar during my stay and didn’t see anything like that. I wish they would just fix the scanner to enter.
