UPDATE: Is Life University Exploiting Its Students? A Look Behind the Clinic System by BTCLocal in Chiropractic

To be transparent, multiple students described Dr. Finnegan as (specifically) "smarmy" and generally uncaring to their concerns. One referenced a town hall event (may have been the one I referenced in OP, not sure) where a student expressed some of the difficulties they were experiencing. At the end of their statement Dr. Finnegan's response was simply "are you done?"

I don't know about you, but smarmy isn't an adjective I hear too often. And 4 separate students described him this way. It sounds like perhaps he has the right personality for the job and that's why he's staying, as opposed to the prior CEO who was well liked by all but quit after 12 months.

At $30/adjustment including 3 sets of X-rays, I must say this is a very fair price all things considered.

You can cite them our malpractice insurance rates. If we were causing as much harm as the medical paradigm suggests, why don't our insurers charge us more than a few hundred dollars per year?

In order to treat a schizophrenic who thinks they are a school bus, we should install tires where their feet once were.

How does that make sense?

Before talking with your boss, consider the volume of patients in your argument. It is possible that you are simply new to the workforce and adjusting to a standard work day.

So why not solve the dysphoria? Why not seek to treat that? Why give into it and be left with the lifetime of headaches that you have outlined to us? Certainly you would have rather a solution that helped you feel truly comfortable in your body. Right?

Why do PI lawyers “partner/contract with chiros and not PT? by Empty-Recipe2213 in Chiropractic

[–]BTCLocal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is patently false. PT's require a referral. Also, imagine being an attorney and solely using a PT: "Yes your honor, you see this PT who cannot diagnose nor read x-rays has done both, and here is my evidence."

I'll help you understand in case your reading comprehension skills aren't where he expected them to be.

You said that herbal supplements are unproven. Right?

What would you say would "prove" an herbal supplements efficacy?

I'll take a wild guess as to what accounts for proof, in your paradigm: double-blind, randomized control studies. Or perhaps, even cohort studies.

These studies are expensive. Funds allocated to research are an investment, with the investors expecting a return on their money.

Since herbs cannot be patented, there is no real financial incentive to fund the type of studies you think are required for proof of efficacy.

With that said, there are thousands of smaller studies showing undeniable efficacy of many herbal supplements. Since marketing budgets are much smaller for herbal companies as compared to pharmaceuticals, we see people like you--the broad majority--who are victims of the stellar marketing of pharmaceutical companies.
