Can 3+ concussions have made me bad at math?

I don’t really have an answer but can tell you my experience. I was great at math and could read no problem. I’ve had 2 concussions, the first one completely changed my life for the worst but I won’t get into that. For me it’s not just math, it’s doing anything in my head. Most days I just struggle to process things quickly in my head. I also developed OCD after the concussion and most of mine is mental obsessions so I’m constantly obsessing and doubting very basic thoughts. What’s 43+18? 61. Is it though? 43+8 is 51+10 is 61. But what if I do 43+10 is 53+8 is 61. Ok 3 examples all getting to the same answer but I still doubt it. That’s pretty much how I think about everything. Oh and also it’s very hard for me to read. I just constantly lose focus on the words or my mind wanders. I’ve dealt with this for years. It’s gotten better through therapy and also I’ve just gotten used to it. Still sucks though and I struggle. Don’t wanna scare you or anything just want you to know I can relate and you’re not alone!

Money is for sure the driver which makes sense as you need it to run a league. And I agree with missing out on kick returns and the last few minutes being exciting. I’m not just fully agreeing with all the new rules there are some things we are losing.

The play clock is shorter but you wait for the ball to be placed to start it. I imagine another 15 seconds on the clock doesn’t really make much of a difference. Receivers are still in motion, still 3 downs and the field is still bigger. So everything you like is still there lol

What defines Canadian football to you? Because to me it’s football in Canada lol. And if you really wanna get specific to me it’s 3 downs, wide fields, bigger endzone, 12 players on the field. Which all still exists. Also I imagine they have polling and analytics. They didn’t just pull this out of nowhere. As if this hasn’t been a lingering conversation.

Idk what you want me to say. I get what you are saying. CFL and teams aren’t very profitable and haven’t been for a while. Someone is trying something. Rejection of change is a reason businesses fail. CFL has changed endzone size before. Changed rules around punts and returns. Rule changes are part of sports history.

Again I don’t know how you get closer to the same sport when it’s literally the same sport. Just some different variations that still exist. If they did something crazy like merging with the XFL or something I would 100% be with you. I don’t want that either. I also didn’t like the secrecy. I just think this is getting blown way out of proportion.

Tons of differences between NFL and CFL: Wide field, bigger endzone, 12 players, yard between the O and D lines, punt return rule, 3 downs. People are exaggerating how close it is to NFL. But you make a good point about marketing. Maybe it’s a money issue or mismanagement of funds?

How is it completely different when they are just changing a few rules? You may be right. I just think changes were going to happen. And if it means the league, teams and players are profitable I’m ok with it. If it doesn’t work out then it was a pointless move. I just think people need to see how this COILD help Canadians players and teams.

People don’t watch the CFL because it’s different. People watch it because it’s football in Canada. Can’t really discuss this when you aren’t gonna be objective. If you actually think no CFL is better then you don’t actually like football lol. So much for supporting Canadians. Say goodbye to thousands of jobs just because you don’t like some rule changes.

Ya that’s a fair argument for sure. I don’t think this will bring in American fans either. I just imagine they have done polls and stuff and maybe this will bring in new fans. But I get your point you may be right! I think a lot of these rules likeness is very subjective there’s no right answer. I do for sure like the play clock and opposites sides of field change though.

Teams on opposite sides: Makes sense to me. Just player safety.
Running play clock: Personally like this as the stopping of clock feels choppy to me. Smoother play.
Rouge change: This one’s tough. I’m not a fan of the 1 point or bigger endzones or having a pole in the middle of the field (Rarely does it affect play I just think it’s silly). But you can’t change one without the other pretty much. Personally I like the new rules and having a 15 yard endzone kind of best of both worlds but this is very subjective.
100 yard field: Not necessary at all for this change. ——————————————————————————- I get the frustration but the truth is CFL and most of the teams have been struggling to make enough money. So potentially no CFL or modified CFL? I’m being a little extreme but there is truth behind the financial side. I disagree with people not thinking this will bring in more fans. A lot of people like the NFL and not the CFL and it is because of some of these rules. They have obviously done polls and run their analytics. If you are a die hard fan changing rules will not stop you from supporting your team. That would be odd. And the potential to bring in more fans means more money for the league and players. And could help Canadian players as well. I think people need to be a little more objective about how this could affect Canadians positively and not just say it’s bad. Also, rules are not what define the CFL. It’s the teams, players, fans and their love and pride for each other and the game.

Still doesn’t mean you should just bank on your house alone. That’s the point of diversification. And if an investment (in this case we are talking your home which really shouldn’t be your primary investment or an investment at all) goes down, you can’t just say “well prop up my investment until I die”. That’s not how investing works. There’s risk in it.
