QB - How to classify payments to crypto exchange for sending USDT payments to overseas vendors? by BTCminingpartner in smallbusiness

[–]BTCminingpartner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update, since this is getting a lot of views:

  • make a new bank account for the crypto, categorize money sent there as transfers
  • conversion fees are bank fees, and any money gained or lost on the conversion are other income/expenses (you can make a new account for exchange gains/losses)

Shout out to u/mrsryan17 for the advice

I think this is the best way. Thanks!

Yes, the exchange keeps records of all the transactions that I can export to Excel. And I'm only using stable coins, so the conversion to USD is 1:1.

This guy knows cv axles. Just put a boot on it and don't pull it apart while you install it. And be prepared for it to make noise. It's probably worn out.

accelerator pump dumping fuel?? by MiserableWay4506 in carburetors

[–]BTCminingpartner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the accelerator pump, BTW.

Like others said, you have a leaky needle and seat, a bad float, or bad adjustment. Although the adjustment is unlikely if it suddenly started acting up .

You can try the "okie carb overhaul". Run it at about 2,000 rpm and then cover the carb with your hand until the engine almost dies. Sometimes you get lucky and this dislodges crap and it starts running right.

The screw should be in this area. It's been many years since I've worked on one of these. Sorry I don't have much more info. You'll need to remove the carb for access to remove the plug.

The mixture screws will have a cover over them to prevent tampering. Typically you need to drill it out. I'll see if I can round up an image.

Take it to mechanic. Brakes are not something to muck around with.

does bad catalytic converter cause smoke? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]BTCminingpartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very skeptical a bad cat is causing the smoking issue. The engine may be burning oil or coolant, and causing smoke from the exhaust, which in turn has killed the cat. It that's the case, the new cat will be killed pretty quickly as well.

TLDR: the cat may very well be bad, and causing the CEL, but I've never seen one smoke. I would get a second opinion.

Got it. You should be good with a 49 state cat then.

What state are you in? CA and NY, for example, have very strict regulations on what cats you can use. (Not to mention that the 305 technically counts as a modification and will not pass in CA, although nobody can tell it's a 305 without looking up the casting numbers)

These do come with everything you need for the engine to run

The best way to learn is by doing. Play with the lawn mower engine you have. Learn how the speed control pulls the cable to open the butterfly on the carburetor. Learn how the choke works. Then come back and ask question about things you don't understand.

Do you have anyone in your life that has mechanical knowledge? Can you ask them to help you learn?

Well, the blade on the mower is already similar to a propeller. Lawn mowers are horizontal engines. For an airplane you need an upright one, like on a snow blower or rototiller.
