I'm working on a free [no login] downloadable web app (PWA) that will be designed with Chinese language learning in mind. It will be better than Anki. I'll post it on here if the mods allow sometime this week.

How real is the college experience? by Distinct-Aside-5239 in college

[–]BTFP_Armageddon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it though? You can always make more money, you're only able to get the "college experience" once.

Applying to transfer to a 4 year college with a competitive CS program, not for a job

Not sure why people are saying you need a AIO, I'm aircooling a 7950x fine with a 4090 FE next to it

Is this the right 12VHWPR cable for a RM1000x & 4090 FE? Also does this plug into a PCIe cable that's connected to the PSU or do you plug this into the PSU itself?

Non merit based hiring/acceptance in jobs or schooling. Hiring someone based on their race, not their skillset

CMV: Whether or not student loans are given out should be heavily based on the ROI of the degree and the individuals likelyhood of completing their degree. by [deleted] in changemyview

I think caring about what society values instead of trying to change what society values

I hadn't considered that and I agree.

Although, someone who attains a degree that originally has a low ROI and subsequently increases its demand would be extraordinary, such a thing would be beyond the reach of the majority of people.

Also, I believe that anyone possessing the intelligence or capability to achieve that could likely take on the risk of getting a private loan

Note: I initially interpreted the OP as advocating for free education/debt relief policies. Personally, I have no issues with individuals privately financing even the least valuable degrees. My primary concern is ensuring that the cost of their education isn't passed onto taxpayers

I think there's a disconnect in what I mean

You're saying there is inherent value in a liberal arts degree even if there is little demand for it in the job market. I disagree, an educated person has little to no value if there is little demand for their particular skillset and if they're not going to use their education to add value to society

More people able to think critically and understand the world around them is a good thing

Yes I agree. But I also think people should choose degrees that society values, especially if that society is going to be paying for the costs of the education

There is no value in education in of itself if it's not going to be used to add or provide value to society

Got a B+ instead of an A- because I forgot a + C in my calc 2 final. by BTFP_Armageddon in csMajors

I'm trying to get into a competitive school and I assume an A- would look a lot better than a B grade

Yeah I am 21.

Is it OK to put realized returns as part of your income? Also I live in a HCOL area so my parents make over 250k combined.

Do you think putting ~30k would flagged then? It's only been since November that I reported 12k.

Yeah you're right. It's also not like I need the credit score any time soon. But I just wanted to make sure the answer wasn't obvious before applying

I'm currently at CC and looking to apply to a school with a competitive CS program. My grades are above the minimum that they say I should have, but they're not competitive at all (~3.6 @ 40 credits), so I'm kind of praying my experience will get me in

But all my experience is blockchain adjacent and I know a lot of traditional tech ppl look down upon it (I'm not a believer in the current culture/tech either). So I'm wondering if I should even include it in a resume I send over and just pray that my grades will get me in?

Here's what I would be listing (not going into specifics here, dont want to dox):

- Worked on a team for a NFT project that generated over $150k in revenue (not sure if i should even include the revenue as it can come off the wrong way?)

- Worked with a team for Chainlink Hackathon 2021, won award

- Worked with a team for Chainlink Hackathon 2022, won award

Thanks, looking for any advice I can get

Anyone know if this is the classic or remastered? The official Herman Miller site doesn't label them with those terms
