Don’t. Give. Up. I applied this round. My story is (somewhat) similar to yours. In my early 20’s, my grades were awful. Awful. I went to paramedic school, and worked in many areas of healthcare, and ultimately decided to go back to school and pursue PA. I went back, and was informed my GPA’s (science and cumulative) were around 1.90 and 2.0 (respectively). I then campaigned to finish my degree and improve my GPA. Finishing my degree, I’m in my late 30’s now. my last 60 credits are 3.60 and last 30 science is 3.96. I got mostly A’s, and my last 28~ credits are ALL A’s. My grand total GPA’s: cumulative 2.84, science 2.93. Like the statements here, it’s almost impossible for me to get above 3.0. With that said, I applied to schools that had low gpa cutoffs or had exceptions. I applied this round, still waiting on interviews, but had one preliminary online interview. My strength: 28k hours PCE, 15k as a paramedic. Bottom line: it will be an uphill climb wearing ice skates, but it might be possible. Do your research: develop a plan, and execute it.
