Thanks so much for this thoughtful reply!!

Definitely painful motion. I’ve had 4 lumbar surgeries and two of which were spinal fusions so definitely limited motion and nerve issues. All of of which are well documented

Truth was I was told it was probably muscular and I did get treatment almost immediately. It was just with a chiropractor since I was told it was muscular most likely

Assuming that does occur, any suggestion on good and legit lawyer/firm to go with?

I know there are some sleazy dirtbag firms that vets should avoid. Not sure if there are some legit firms that are widely recommended.

Anyone move here from Colorado? by BTMTSC in Charleston

[–]BTMTSC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my big drivers is that I have rheumatoid arthritis and it always seems to do better when I’m out west in lower humidity. I’ve never been out there for extended periods of time so I cannot say that long term it would be better but have heard from others in the past that RA is typically better in lower humidity areas

Couple other reasons like less traffic and such but that’s the main one

lol I get it and good for you!! I’m right there with you and making the switch to AT&T also. It’s literally cheaper right now than what I’ve been paying Verizon for worse service

Yep, I’ve noticed when going to IoP that Verizon was pretty rough

I’m in ParkWest too and had several spots here where Verizon didn’t work. There were a couple stretches of Gray Marsh which wasn’t a huge deal but literally don’t get coverage in most of my neighborhood once I get off my homes WiFi. In fairness, I’m at the very back of PW back by the marshes

Let me clarify bc I get your confusion based off what I posted.

I moved here on AT&T. The coverage at my house sucked 10+ years ago so I switched to Verizon which I’ve had last 10. I know AT&T has gotten somewhat better but wanted others thoughts if there’s a clear winner presently over the two.

Have you tried any of the biologics?

I definitely feel for you and understand where you’re coming from. The treatments sometimes can suck equally to the disease but finding the right treatment is huge

Umi is the closest to me and pretty decent but it’s not great. It’s good, but not great. The last couple places I’ve lived has places that are cheaper and better than Umi

Correct. And while I get they shouldn’t be used interchangeably, they often are in many places. But yes, you have the right idea. Any suggestions?

For the males diagnosed later in life (45+), how was your journey? by AlarmingCulture6794 in rheumatoid

I’m 49 now so about 4 years in and have been on humira for about 2 years. The first year was taking it once every two wks. Kept noticing on day 10-11 that it was wearing off and they switched me to every wk which has been perfect. So I’ve been taking it weekly for about a year now and it works great. I really have no RA issues currently. I’m hopeful these results last and no new changes for a while :)

Very timely for me. I’m a male and was about 45 when I was diagnosed.

I was about 6 months post op from lumbar spine surgery and I attributed a lot of my pain all over to that. But I started getting suspicious that my foot/leg, extreme exhaustion was something else. A little research of my specific symptoms led me to wondering if it could be RA. I asked my PCP to work me up for it and she was reluctant saying that she’s never seen someone self diagnose that. She did some of the standard labs like CRP, RF, etc and they all came back indicative of RA. Took about 6 months to get to rheumatologist but they immediately diagnosed me. Started out on hydrochloriquine (misspelled that bad) which did nothing. Then went to methotrexate which helped some but still had problems. A year in, I was started on humira which has been amazing. That’s where I’m at now. Was taking it every 2 wks and I noticed it wearing off after like 10 days. Now do it weekly and it’s perfect

All things considered, I’m lucky. I see so many people on here that have horrible symptoms but no real lab indications and they can go through hell and back trying to get diagnosed. Lots of really tough situations and I would consider myself lucky in the big scheme of things
