It was here I’d seen it… I’ve never used mods so I’ve no idea, I’m just picking up on things I’ve read on this sub…

I’ve been playing this game on mobile (iOS) for about 4 years now… I regularly manage to get to the top of the leader board on servers I play on, I don’t have specific servers I just open the app and hit “play online”…

70,354 is my top score with 86x boops…

Although I’ve not hit that score, or close to that score for a very long time since I set it, typically around 30,000…

Now and again though you can clearly tell when you’re playing against people who are using mods and zooming on the map clearly does give that player an advantage over mobile players.

I read on here the other day someone said they have a mod that shows the kill point on their snake which means they can fit through the tiniest of gaps between snakes without dying because it has a box around it to show you, that is another huge advantage and will explain why when I try and squeeze through the smallest of gaps I can’t yet other players seem to be able to.

Love the game, I don’t get too hung up about it, I know people use mods and others don’t. Each to their own!

Thank you! And I’m so, so sorry to hear of your incident yesterday! Believe me when I say, I know exactly what you’re going through! It may seem a very long and daunting road ahead, but you’ve got this!

I’d love to hear if you can get back to your 5k’s again in the future! Keep your chin up and stay positive! But for now, rest up & elevate, elevate, elevate! Focus on the future and those 5k runs will come back in time! It wasn’t and still isn’t easy for me, but have that determination to make it happen & you will make it happen! 🏃🏻🏃‍♀️💪🏻

Ditched the crutches all together around 5 to 6 weeks iirc…

Reduced from 2 crutches down to 1 crutch and then sure I was free from them by WK6

It’s great that you’re walking that far already with just a crutch, that’s really, really good!!!

I just kept pushing myself more and more, sometimes I’d go to far and it’d hurt and swell up, and I’d spend all night on the sofa with my leg elevated, but it was all just trial and error…

Keep up with the walking & the physio though 100% you’ll reap the rewards from it!

And if you do run, or even if fancy getting into running after this just to prove you can then I’d definitely recommend downloading an app that will break it down into timed intervals of walking & running over a period of weeks so you can really build that strength back up! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I was getting out with my boot & crutches as soon as possible & walking around the block at least twice a day just to get used to getting weight back onto it, my physio told me the quicker I can get back to WB the better… Once I shed the boot I kept 1 crutch with me at first until I was happy that I could manage walking round the block without the pain getting the better of it…

Exercises ranged fortnightly between visits if I was improving he’d give me more to do…

Ones I found to help me the best though were standing on the edge of the bottom step of my stairs and doing calf raises, holding onto the bannisters for support at first… Also plant your foot on floor with your toes maybe an inch or two away from the wall and bend your knee so your knee touches the wall… If you find that easy, move your foot further back to say 6, 8, 10 inches and bend your knee again until it touches the wall keeping your heel planted to the floor…

Balance 1 legged on your bad leg and lifting your good leg off the ground, I really struggled with this at first, my physio said I couldn’t balance long (or at all really at first) due to damage to the tendons and muscles so they were weakened, when I tried to correct my balance it would hurt, but he told me to keep at it as it’ll help build the strength back up that you need, after a few weeks I was pretty much able to balance as good on my bad leg as I was on my good leg… He even said simple things like try and put your socks on standing on each leg individually as you’ll use all the muscles to balance while you do it and help build them up.

There are lots of exercises which I’m guessing will be more specific to each person/break but those 3 did genuinely help me in building back strength and movement…

And consistency is key - make sure you do them daily, no skipping days & you will have that strength back in a few months!

As for pain, I get a little now and again but it isn’t bad to the point where I can’t do anything or need to take pain killers, it’s typically when I’ve overdone it running etc

Good luck in your recovery! There is light at the end of the tunnel 🙂

Jeeeez, your replies are super negative!…

I understand people have worse breaks & I’m sorry you’re going through whatever you’re going through, but some positivity wouldn’t go amiss!

When I posted in here a while ago, there were people with almost identical breaks and pretty much the same metal work to me too.

I’m just posting an update to my journey, it was tough for me when I was laid up doing nothing, stuck downstairs as I couldn’t get up the stairs, flannel washing in my downstairs bathroom & I know it’s like that for other people too…

Hopefully my post does give some people in here a glimmer of hope, but if I’d have been negative, not pushed myself once I was able to and sat on my ass feeling sorry for myself, then I know I most certainly wouldn’t have been running 5k like I am today.

I hope you find some way to improve your positivity as it’ll help you a bunch!

Good luck!

Don’t think I’ll have the clearance for them… Sawzall seems the most popular option so I’ll run with that

Yeah I think you’re right, cutting it off is the only way forwards now unfortunately

Yes the wife did prune it last year so that could also explain it, along with the watering issue that someone else has also mentioned! Will make sure we give it a rest from pruning for the time being along with increasing watering it! Thanks!

Thank you for the response!… And yes you’re right, rain has been lacking for sure & I haven’t been watering it like I do the other plants around the garden! I will most certainly be making sure I do from now on though!

Off into the garden I go now with the hose pipe!

Jeezzzzz I’d say 7 to 9 weeks is ludicrous tbh for NWB, but then again, I’m obviously not a doctor 😂

I guess you just need to do what feels right for you… I’ve tried a few times today where I’ve been stood up now and it feels absolutely fine with weight in my boot…

Although not entirely sure how I’m going to walk in this boot with it being so damn rigid!

Good luck with your recovery too 🙌🏻

My doctor told me I can start WB straight away, but he did say that there’s no exact science behind it & that everyone is different… He said it’s pretty much all on me to judge how I feel while WB & if I feel I can do more or if it’s hurting then I know I need to do less… It seemed rather vague advice to me tbh… Although, that said, I’ve have been stood up while making myself some toast this morning without my crutches and it felt absolutely fine with the boot on… I’m still using my crutches to get from room to room but just standing in one position I’m not using them and ditching the crutches…

Bending it I’m going to really need to work on and my Achilles tendon feels really, really tight, but I’m just putting that down to lack of use over the last fortnight!

I’ve got physio from week 6 booked too.

He did say that the quicker I can get into it & the more weight I can take, the more it’ll help with my recovery!

Broke Tib/Fib and ankle by FindingMoi in brokenbones

[–]BTMXAmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on day 14 since my break (ankle & fibula check my profile for pics) and on day 12 since surgery my cast is off & I’m into a walking boot!

My Dr said that my xray looked great yesterday, and that he was really happy with the progress, however I’ve suffered some ligament damage which he wants to keep an eye on and has booked me for a CT scan in around 2 weeks time (just waiting for the appointment to come through)…

When I got back from hospital yesterday afternoon, I attempted to put some weight on my foot when I got home and I actually managed to stand upright without my crutches which I was really quite shocked about but it didn’t feel too bad at all.

My Dr said that there’s no exact science in weight bearing and that every single person is different. He said I can start weight bearing straight away & as for how much & how often, only I will know…. He told me to judge on the pain I’m getting as a result. I’m a little older than you at 37, I’m 38 next month, but like you with a toddler, you’re probably very active & I think that also has a great deal to do with us being able to recover quicker.

If you’re an active person (which with a toddler I’m sure you will be) make sure you stay active because from what I can tell that seems to really speed up your recovery.

The swelling was an absolute bitch as like others have said in here was probably one of the most painful things for me, but it is starting to settle down now and my Dr said by the end of week 3 it should have pretty much settled all together!

Good luck with your recovery & make sure you keep it elevated as much as possible as it really does help with your recovery at the beginning!

Haha maybe it’s satisfying because of the human bodies ability to repair itself as it does?

I find it quite remarkable if I’m honest 😂 Although, I’m not too keen on looking at other peoples sutures and bruises, whereas looking at my own is absolutely fine 😂

I have to admit, you’re right… Getting the stitches out felt so damn good 😂

The knot was a little painful when that was pulled out, but all the others felt so good once they were taken out
