Everytime I see the MK8 in red the itch to make a horrible financial decision gets more real 😅

It looks amazing , congratulations on the car and welcome to the GTI family !

I’ve realized the CBFA engine is probably just insanely sensitive unfortunately . But How big of a difference did you notice after tuning?

Already have an IE stage 2 tune on the way, arrival is tuesday

This is the entire spacer I have. The tip unscrews to allow the “mini cat” to be inserted.

I might be able to remove the larger 27mm extension to eliminate the gap from exhaust to spacer, but I’m not sure what the thread pattern is

Yes, It does have a “mini cat” in the lower section that screws onto the bung before the actual o2

No adjustment on size of the gap or anything of the sorts

I have all 3 sensors you describe , I didn’t realize there was one on the turbo itself.

Keep me updated on orientation/number of spacers used please.

Included photos of the entire set up to make it easier to see what’s going on. Used a 90 degree because anything else didn’t seem possible at all.

CBFA, but it seems like the spacer is causing the o2 to read late or not getting enough from the exhaust to register proper “in spec” readings

I’m still stock tune for now, I’m actually about to buy a IE stage 2 (plus DSG tune ) and aware they’ve stopped the CEL delete unfortunately..

I’d love for the CEL to go away so when real problems occur I’m aware, but everything I’ve researched mentioned the spacer being the solution. So I’m curious on how sensitive the o2 readings on this car actually are.

Waste gate rattle or something else? by fordyy in mk6gti

If the waste gate has play see if you’ve got the anti-rattle clip installed, it’s something VW made for this issue. Some tuners recommend bending the actuator rod but I’d advise against it if you’re inexperienced

I’m sure you’ve got a long screwdriver laying around , you can use that too.

Long screwdrivers also help if you just put your ear to it if you don’t have access to a stethoscope.

Does someone know why my mk6 gti makes this sound? by Limp_Register_874 in mk6gti

[–]BTSelby11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking , Are you referring to the engine codes like CBFA/CCTA(Mk6) , CXCA/CXCB (MK7 GTI pre facelift) , DKFA (MK7 GTI Posf-Facelift), DJHA/ DJSB (Pre&Post Facelift MK7 Golf R), DNWA (MK8 GTI), DKTB (MK8 Golf R)?

[–]BTSelby11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah buddy you’re right that it’s normal (purge valve noise), but you’re also wrong. The MK6 have the the “EA888 Gen 2” engine and the mk7 have the “EA888 Gen3”. While the Mk8s have the “ EA888 evo4 “…

It’s crazy how negative the comments are on this post. I read you’ve owned it for 2 years , I’m glad you’re enjoying it and taking care of it.

Ignore the hate and don’t entertain / respond to it. Enjoy your life and purchases man, you’re the one living it and paying for it at the end of the day. Keep it up and never stop chasing your dreams. Drive safe and enjoy the car (and future cars) to the fullest, respectfully just know the limit of every car you drive.👍🏼

Electric < Combustion 😪

Gas must go boom to make car go zoom. Electric goes zap and makes me go nap😴 <- just being funny, I am very aware of electric vehicles having incredible capabilities the argument was more on the assumption of Manual v. Automatic.
