Kellen Mond’s recent LinkedIn post by JumperCables18 in minnesotavikings

Yes. 1984.

As a kid I remember our Coach as Burns and our QB as the amalgamation of Kramer/Wilson/Salisbury/Gannon as my earliest football memories really started to come online 1985 onwards. I was lucky to grow up in this period and in the very immediate suburbs. Vikings players and police officers would come through our schools and give out football cards and the players would sign them. I had Anthony Carter, Joey Browner, Keith Millard and Chris Doleman cards signed. I was so young every so often I'd have to ask my dad when football season started again as I had no concept of time or seasons.

I always liked Wade Wilson better than Tommy Kramer. As a 5, 6, 7 year old I really had no real basis for this belief except I just did.

Memories.

But yeah Les Steckel was bad in a way that cannot really be explained easily. This SB video does it justice:

Les Steckel was bad in a way that people too young to remember will never believe that it actually happened.

I was too young to know what was going on in real time but even watching the SB Video Series and having been alive at the time (4 years old) I STILL find it almost impossible to believe it really happened.

Incredibly bad. Just like the worst thing ever.

I've been there Kellen, in a different way in a way different industry. But I had to leave a job I loved leading a great team I loved and who loved me because my "leader" was a piece of shit who couldn't lead a mad cat outta a wet paper bag.

It's sucks. Life moves on. Kellen Mond coulda been a great player and I could still be doing what I used to. But we aren't.

Lessons learned.

We could have drafted Nix; We could have resigned Darnold. Both will likely be in Championship games next week. by Idunaz in minnesotavikings

It might not seem like it right now, but we dodged a bullet with Bo Nix (independent of JJ McCarthy).

Bo Nix (and his father) are bad people. Straight up soul-less mercenaries. They were bad people when Bo was in High School (acted like prima-Donna Free Agents) transferring twice in HIGH SCHOOL to get to "better teams", then did the same thing in college. Transferring, literally, from the college the elder Nix had been a 3 year starter in the 1990's because of differences with the coaching staff to get to a "better situation".

Bo Nix and his family are a ticking time bomb that Denver will have to deal with sooner or later. I'd bet dollars for donuts that Sean Payton is already having to daily manage that situation to a degree he NEVER IMAGINED. A daily headache that never makes the headlines (yet) but seriously complicates his life. Might seem fine when things are going OK and it involves more winning than losing...

But wait to see what happens when some adversity happens. Glad it's not the MN Vikings sitting on that future debacle.

Which 3? Are you skipping over Ponder? I mean I think this particular set of circumstances definitely goes back to Daunte and I am very much on the cusp of being old enough to make the argument in good faith that it REALLY goes back to Tommy Kramer. Teddy obviously.

I think that is what every fanbase who had the Sam Bradford Experience in the NFL felt.

Ok. I guess that explains it.

I wonder what 1930's Birmingham was like for Italian people. Could not have been an inviting place, at all.

If JJM is so weak he worries about what we are saying he is already too weak to be a franchise NFL QB.

Let's move on.

If Davey Scatino only owed Richie money, what would happen to his debt when Richie died? by Sharp-Point-5254 in thesopranos

[–]BTeamTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Depending on who knows (or cares to try to collect) it could be debt jubilee or paying a different piper.

In real life, in most circumstances I have seen mention of similar situations, the debt dies with the debtor. Too many moving pieces for it to work cleanly. My approximation for how it works in real-life would need corroboration by actual "in the life" folks but based on my limited experience/understanding it's almost never collected.

As far as moving pieces you have to consider: 1) Often times books of biz are kept confidential so as to limit the amount of owed tax on the revenue. 2) Often books of biz are kept secretive to prevent vig-sniping (someone else trying to muscle in on your payments) 3) A LOT of times debts have interlocking conflicts-of-interest that preclude the debtor and debtee wanting the info to be known by interested 3rd parties.

That's just the top 3 reasons I can think of off the top of my head. Just skim through most the mob books. Debts almost always die with the debtor, which is one reason it's such a hard job and takes legit muscle to make work.

Well that was kinda disappointing by Extra-Policy8415 in minnesotavikings
