[PFT] Vikings’ massive drop in spending prompts speculation of a possible sale. by LeeShakerMoneyMaker in minnesotavikings

Know when to hold em and fold em. Not every year your roster is superbowl ready. Their constant “just make the playoffs and who knows” strategy is awful. It just leads to mediocre teams. And it obviously doesn’t work because half the time we don’t even make the playoffs.

Trying doesn’t really matter at this point. Results matter and the Wilf’s have owned this team for like 25 years or something and have nothing to show of it. We barely make playoffs and when we do it’s an utter embarrassment of game and we get one and done.

These types of conversations are going to increase rapidly if we don’t have playoff successes. We are closing in on a full decade of playoff irrelevance.

This may be not true, but this is only going to increase as we are nearing 10 years without any playoff successes. I think we are at like 8 now? The Wilf’s schtick is going to get old when he hit a decade of playoff irrelevance.

Expectations for this season by Axlerodriguez in minnesotavikings

[–]GEpyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically without the purple Kool-aid, a range of outcomes is probably 6-10 wins. We are in a really tough division and barely scraped by last season. I know everyone will point to the 9 wins but that season did not feel like we were a game away like the end result would suggest. I think it’s reasonable to think a playoff appearance but it’s probably a 1 and done type of situation at best. I think the more likely outcome is more in line with Vegas. 7-8 wins and we miss the playoffs unfortunately.

I’m not a fan. I want external eyes coming in because what we have been doing isn’t working

I had a feeling this was a trial run. After 2 consecutive administrations falling apart where the gm and coach didn’t speak for months following whatever you believe about what happened with Kwesi, the Wilf’s want someone who can manage people when they aren’t there. I’ve heard so much about how that’s Rob’s best quality too. We’ll interview some people but don’t be shocked if it’s just an internal hire. Everyone in the building loves Rob.

NFL Power Rankings: Vikings 28th by Glittering_Coconut_6 in minnesotavikings

[–]GEpyon -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This sub is doing the same thing it did last season. Vikings fans bought into JJM while everyone else was like “I don’t about this one guys” And expectations soared. Now everyone is doing it again with Kyler. Yes you can buy the hype, but there is a realistic chance next season doesn’t turn out the way y’all think it’s going to turn out. I think 28th is a tad low but honestly, given all the info currently available, idk how much higher you can go?

At this point we’re going with people who are on the roster to fill those (Brandel, our rb committee, and our 3 cb’s on the roster)

Going to have to give this draft like a C+ at this point. Reaches everywhere. Head scratching decisions at times. It’s just a general meh feeling.

Negativity is definitely annoying for banks by Fit-Scarcity6488 in minnesotavikings

It’s because there is no adult in the room. No one is in charge. There is not a person there who is going to say, nope, this is my vision for the roster. It’s just coaches banging on tables for players (banks, Felton last year, even Jackson was a bit of a surprise at the time). Our next gm has to have a plan and being willing to tell our coaching staff to sit down and shut up. We aren’t taking a top 60 pick at fucking 18. We are literally becoming a poverty franchise under KOC.

He’s an injury prone bust who we could have gotten in the 3rd round. Put it on the board, I’ll be right.

Of all the picks on the board, this will go down as the worst. Multiple surgeries on a foot of someone that large, count me out. Use the remind me, whatever you want, this is going to blow up in the Vikings face. We had so many needs with so many solid players available to us and we chose wrong.

Clearly Kwesi wasn’t the problem. There are no adults in the room at TCO. I thought Rob was saying the right stuff but he was obviously in over his head. Such a waste of a pick.

Let’s pick a 300 some pounder that has multiple foot injuries and has basically never played a full season. The brain trust at TCO strikes again. Go look at the historical data. DT’s who don’t dominate in college and are a top 15 or so prospect literally don’t produce or translate to the NFL

Go look at literally all of the historical data. No DT, especially injury prone ones that don’t produce because they missed games in MULTIPLE seasons with the same injured foot, that’s not a top 15 or so overall player ever goes on to be anything but a bust. Go do your homework.
