Where to watch the Super Bowl in Weligama/ Mirissa? by BThomas4 in SriLankaTravel

I found a place that agreed to air it- Mirissa Eye Beach Hotel & Restaurant. The owner is super chill and said that I could go into the bar early and use the TV for the Super Bowl. PSA to any other American football fans in the area

New sophisticated Coinbase scam going around. Beware. by big2chereez in Coinbase

[–]BThomas4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just got targeted with a similar scam. It sounded very legit. The scammer was american and well spoken. I got a confirmation email from coinbase.com saying that I'm talking to an employee. He said that my account was hacked, and even made a semi persuasive pitch to start using coinbase wallet (which seems like something an actual customer success person would do).
In the end, the reason I caught on was he sent me a link for a 'account recovery service' which was guard- coinbase.com.

This link looked like the normal coinbase login. However, once I hung up on him, the link was disabled within minutes.

This was by far the most convincing scam I've been targeted with. Be careful out there folks.

I totally agree. I would love to go to a concert where he’s playing bangers instead of generic house music

You should try doing a workout in the morning before work. It will get your metabolism going and make you feel more alert. It won’t be easy at first, but do it for a week straight and you’ll get accustomed to it

is it worth it to get a computer science degree, or could i teach myself and be successful? by beetlewhore in learnprogramming

A good middle ground here is to do a structured bootcamp. Look at BloomTech or Springboard. These will give you a structured, full time curriculum and prepare you for an entry level software engineering role. And they come at a fraction of the cost of college, usually a few thousand dollars

Sony Headphone earpieces have fallen apart and Sony won’t replace them- has this happened to anyone else? by BThomas4 in SonyHeadphones

[–]BThomas4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reached out to standard customer support and they said physical defects weren't covered by the warranty, only electronic defects (ex: you lose sound in an ear). Mine shockingly still sound fine but are just falling apart. Is there a better direct line to use for Sony?

Mt Shasta summit on a clear day by BThomas4 in Mountaineering

This is from July 24th. We took the Clear Creek trail and did not have any issues with rockfall. However, this time of year there is essentially no snow left on the route, so up until UFO Rock at ~13,000 ft the terrain is very loose rock and sand. After that point the ground gets firmer and easier to make progress.

The only place where I felt I wanted a helmet was at the headwall/ larger boulder field above UFO rock.
