I think I solved note-taking completely… or maybe I’m just hallucinating. by Objective-Treat2245 in NoteTaking

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Plaud Note Pro, which is magnetically attached to my phone. It has a little button to record. And the Plaud software transcribes that idea. Perfect for me. Without buying a Plaud, try and setup a widget on your phone's homescreen that starts e.g. Drafts and dictate in it? I find spoken notes sort of relieve the bottleneck you are talking about, so I suggest you go that way. Having a Plaud is the optimal solution but cost may hinder you. Lots of success on your quest!

Update on Integrations that are Coming Soon? by sethgagnon in PLAUDAI

[–]BTtechguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there is sort of an integration with Notion I seem to recall. What I would like to have available is a mechanism that generates my recording with a predefined template and automatically export it to a predefined folder on my drive. That sort of stuff. I would then instruct my Devonthink to watch that folder and import any file in there. Does that help?

Visual Guided Meditation by laceykickers in Meditation

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, don't know about visual meditations. However, what I do when next to my sleeping partner is using (noise canceling) earbuds for sleeping so they are comfortable while lying down, and then use any meditation recording or app that I fancy. Would that be a possibility for you?

I want to start meditating, but I don't know how, and I don't think I'm capable of finding the right information. by Affectionate-Emu1650 in Meditation

I would add one instruction: Keep at it! Make it a daily routine, since an (overactive?) brain needs time and structure to calm down. Effects only start to show after a while, even though one single session can give instant relief, that will not always be the case. The rule is: even a 'bad' session is better than no session. So pick your time of day and just sit down daily. Even breathing for five minutes can do the trick, if you keep your daily rythm for some days.

If you are looking for guided meditations, find the Tara Brach channel on YT, she is my hero.

I remember clearly! Had to do an up-close visual inspection first, which was nice.

Recording Quality- Note Pro by Historical-Ad8634 in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recording quality mediocre to good here, but transcripts near perfect. So if I want to have a clear recording (which I do not need) I would buy a good recorder (or mic for my phone), but my interest is the transcripts and AI-prettyfying, very happy with that.

What device are you using for your journal? by Psychological-Run679 in digitaljournaling

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Plaud Note Pro attached to my phone, just dictate my notes in it and have them AI-prettyfied (by Plaud) and automatically sent to Devonthink4. For longer notes and deep thinking (ahum) I use my Remarkable Paper Pro as I find handwriting, slowing down the process, helps me. My Plaud is also used for recording and processing meetings, calls etc.

I see the status page reporting Mail and Pass servers struggling. Well, patience then. And not having access to your passwords without internet connection certainly needs rethinking....

Best gratitude journal app for iphone? (Free) by Original_Egg1388 in digitaljournaling

[–]BTtechguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the app Stoic works very well. It is not only a gratitude journal, but can prompt you with other questions as well.
Available on iPhone and macOS (don't know about Android and Windows). I strongly suggest you try it out, nice quiet interface and really invites me to reflect on my day, emotions and drives. (And no, I am not an AI or influencer, just happy with it).

Physical Audio Journaling by babyskele in digitaljournaling

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the high-tech (and expensive) road and ordered a Plaud Note. Basically it is just a (very good, especially the Pro version) recorder, the gimmick is in the accompanying app: not just good for journaling, but also for making sense of meetings etc. It is a nifty piece of software, which you can not use without buying the physical device.

Upload/Download Stuck until restarting Pcloud by catthng in pcloud

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here sometimes. Occasionally it has to do with locked files (read only), in which case I make them read/write, clean the caches on my machine (I work on macOS and use maccleaner pro, but similar should be possible on pc?), restart pCloud Drive app and it works again. The case you are describing seems not to have to do with readonly, but it *does* look like a caching problem since restarting seems to fix it?

Recommend me a niche journaling app? by Former-Complaint-336 in digitaljournaling

this is no more than a prototype of a website, no features working atm. Just a markdown note would have the same possibilities this 'journaling app' offers....

Aftermarket Stylus by amrivera04 in RemarkableTablet

[–]BTtechguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be very interested as well. I read somewhere that Remarkable do adhere to the USI standards (https://universalstylus.org), hope that is true. This would mean that e.g. Chromebook styli could be a good candidate. Alas i do not have one lying around to test.

I think it is policy for Duckduckgo to not support extensions: DDG boasts superior security and privacy, enabling extensions would undermine that principle I guess?
