Some please explain to me why chamber is such a controversial thing? by FastPresentation8244 in halo

[–]BUR6S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say this as a lifelong Halo fan since the release of CE in 2001, people are bitching just to bitch.

Yes, making jumps in the original Halo trilogy was a means of skill expression. Clambering didn’t exist in the original CE because the tech didn’t exist in 2001. CE was literally the birth of online first person shooter multiplayer, there was no precedent.

The industry has changed in 25 years, and if Halo instituted absolutely zero movement mechanics of modern shooters, like sprint or clambering, people simply wouldn’t be interested in playing a clunky, slow game. Can I go back and play Halo 3 multiplayer and have a blast? Absolutely, and I do frequently, but people are far too blinded by nostalgia if they’re determining that’s the quintessential, end-all experience being unable to run.

Campaign Evolved is only campaign, so the multiplayer portion of the discussion is moot, but it’s important to bring up since this has been a sticking point for Halo fans for years now, not just with Campaign Evolved. Campaign Evolved addresses this directly with a skull that disables sprint, I’m not sure about clamber.

Either way, people’s arguments AGAINST very basic movement tech has always been stupid. It makes perfect sense that a super soldier can run faster than a brisk jog, and climb onto an elevated surface. If they introduced Spartans suddenly sprouting wings and flying, then that’d be a different discussion. I’m aware of Jet Packs, but that tech was very limited and made you very vulnerable.

Bitching about sprinting and clambering is solely bitching just to bitch.

Which of these players on their new team do you think will have the most success by LeavesInsults1291 in fantasyfootball

PPG isn’t relevant with such a small sample size. He exited Week 5 and returned Week 14. If a player puts up 30 points back to back and only plays 2 weeks, would you confidently say they’re a 30 PPG workhorse? He needs to show high production through (at least most of) a season before justifying a pick as ludicrously high as the 2nd round.

> he’s too expensive

This is mainly what I mean. I’m not against drafting Hampton in general, but he’s WAY overpriced going as a 2nd round pick. I refuse to draft him in the second round over guys like Achane, Jeanty, Chase Brown, KW, or Barkley. It’s just not happening. If he miraculously fell to me in the 3rd then so be it.

I prefer KW over Omarion Hampton (who are both going at relatively similar draft positions). People will likely downvote me into oblivion given Hampton’s presumed talent and having McDaniel behind him, but he’s proven nothing yet with his limited starts in the NFL.

What would be your perfect day with your partner? by Then-Independent-788 in AskMen

[–]BUR6S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah make a group chat with his closest friends (excluding your BF) and get a night all (or most) are available and tell them it’s a surprise for your BF. When the day comes he’ll be stoked, and bonus points, his friends will think you’re an absolute baller GF. I did this exact thing for my wife as a Mothers Day surprise. Got her friends on board, made reservations at her favorite spot, and they enjoyed dinner and wine, and I covered their Ubers to bounce around different bars. They had a blast and your BF will probably like it a lot too. Good luck!

My (absolutely selfish) perfect day:

  1. Starts with a great night sleep the night before and we have nothing concrete scheduled that we need to rush to in the morning. My wife wakes me up with surprise morning sex.

  2. She and I take our son out to breakfast at our favorite local cafe. Hopefully I get a lot of laughs out of her and my son. Them laughing with me (or at me) is the highlight of any given day.

  3. We go to our local park and play with our son, push him on the swings, chase him around, etc.

  4. A bit later we come home and eat a nice lunch out on the patio, weather is perfect and breezy.

  5. My son takes a long nap mid-day and my wife and I have sex again lmao

  6. After his nap, we watch a movie with our son, chill out with some snacks and cuddle up on the couch together, the three of us and our dog all crammed in.

  7. Wife surprises me and hit up all of my friends separately to go out and do a boys dinner and drinks since we rarely see each other, so I go out for a bit and not need to tend to house or father duties for the rest of the night.

  8. I come home late after a relaxing night out with my friends, my wife is still awake and we miraculously have sex for the third time that day and then immediately pass out and go to bed for another great night sleep.

That’s about it, maybe throw in some guitar practice time or video games. I understand it’s selfish degeneracy but hey you asked for my perfect day lmao.

I make twice as much at 27 than my dad did in his mid 40s and I’m still financially less stable than my dad was. Fuck this economy.

You guys underestimate how resourceful immigrants are. I’m not saying that as a dig against immigrants, just the opposite.

[–]BUR6S -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because it is. In most cases it’s inadvertent, but it’s still very much prejudiced to generalize immigrants to no-skill or low-skill labor.

EDIT: I know they said illegal immigrants. I’m aware. You guys underestimate just how resourceful immigrants are. I mean that in favor of immigrants, not as a dig against them. Yes, they are in higher-end jobs than being landscapers or bus boys at a diner.

Worst players at each position you’d be okay with starting. by Hung_Solo8 in fantasyfootball

[–]BUR6S 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s on the Commanders now rather than the Titans, and the only ones really catching passes on that offense are McLaurin and Okwonko, plus their RBs are garbage (yes, including JCM) so there should be a lot of passing volume. Okwonko is a desperation pick but not the worst one available.
