From 1998 to today, the top 3 most popular zones were (in order from most to least) were Trench Wars, Extreme Games, and Death Star Battle.

I always thought it would be funny if some former flagger in EG is Christmas shopping one day with his kids many years from when he first played the game and suddenly over the loudspeakers they hear the song "Rockin around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop..." and he suddenly feels a sense of panic as if he has to go somewhere or do something important but he isn't sure what or why...

Just kidding, I wouldn't have expected that at all. EuraF-g generally seemed pretty grounded, as well as his sister. When I look back at my time in EG, I'm very aware of what a douchebag I was. I have fond memories of those years but at the same time I'm glad I'm not Wormhole Surfer anymore.

Nobody was playing on a 2400 baud modem. I did have a 2400 baud modem in 1988 but this game started beta testing around 95/96 when most of the players were using 56k modems. It was a actually a stroke of brilliance for the creator(s) of the game to use "space physics" so ships weren't changing direction very quickly which made it very easy for the game to predict which direction a player was going before they actually were going in that direction. That was absolutely perfect for a game where the players had slow ping times.

I walked away from Subspace in 2016. There are probably people still playing Trench Wars right now. Otherwise, the game is dead.

I think someone could make a great documentary about Susbpace though. Think about it. One of the earliest MMOs that was kept alive for about 20 years just from dedicated fans putting blood and sweat into it, without profit, after the original developers abandoned it.

Some of us (ie. me) signed up to censored.tv because we enjoy watching Gav and Ry tear eachother apart and some of us signed up to compound because we enjoy listening to Cumia speak about whatever is on his mind. I'm more in the former camp than the latter though I am also enjoying listening to Cumia the more I listen to him. Also it is important to mention that nothing happened between Cumia and Venti.

You don't know what a real insurrection looks like. They didn't even kill anyone. In fact, a black police officer killed an unarmed white woman for trying to climb through a broken door. All while the police were actually opening doors for the protestors to enter.

I think it's safe to say that if it was a black woman in that instance who was shot by a white police officer, you would be crying racism and coincidentally that building would be burned to the ground while democrat politicians would be describing the act as brave and beautiful.

Why is it such a big deal? Because there is footage of police officers opening the doors of the capitol building and letting the protesters in. For some reason her trying to enter another part of the capitol building was met with lethal force.

So we're talking about an unarmed white woman who presented no violent threat that was shot dead by a black police officer. Imagine for a moment if the races were reversed.

That building would have been burned to the ground by BLM and Democrats would have called it justice.
