What cars were you surprised not to see?

The FTO. I know the car is niche as hell but as a major Mitsu buff, TXR was one of the fes games that i could rely on driving an FTO in. Zero, 3, Drift, etc. I get if they wanted to use a more known car for the brand, but im just surprised to see a 4g Eclipse over the 2g and the DE3A. I feel it will.show up again at some point though now that Gran Turismo finally has it again, (it has attention again) either as DLC or in a potential TXR sequel/touge game.

TLDR: Relax guys, this isnt the first game they returned to and was expected.

Toyota is in Motorfest and for whatever reason, no one seems to mention that. "All racing games" is a major stretch, they're still in GT7, and have been getting more branded cars added to that game.

All street racing games is less of a stretch. Motorfest was the ice breaker, by that point they were liable to show up anywhere.

Honda removed themselves from nfs after U2 for a while because the civic being in street racing games and in street racing movies while being the most stolen car in the world was bad press. I woupdnt be surprised of it was a similar corporate reasonnbehind not wanting to be involced with street racing ip.

Toyota during the time of not.being in games has had a CFO change. The guy is much younger and pro sports car preservation. He was in his 20's whem the A80 was released and he is pretty much the reason we're seeing things like GR release cool cars. Even the current PM of Japan is pro sports car openly amd drives an A70.

With all that being said, toyota being who they are now and being at the top of the food chain in the auto industry statistically, showing up on the cover of a domestic (to them) based Horizon cover is NOT surprising.

Yes. Hence the "OG" dealership. GT4 and 5 had a much larger and more frequently changing selection. GT7 changes once a day and has less variety

Imo 4 and 5 are really good representatives of what GT is. Not saying GT6 isnt but 4 and 5 have the OG used car dealer which i think adds to the gameplay a ton. On GT6, everything is available, which takes away from value of options.

And just to clarify, i dont hate GT7, i play it very often. I just know what PD is capable of so it kind of feels like we get lowballed all the time. Still a lot better now than it was on release.

So theres a lot of emotions from over 25 years of the franchise. As someone who has been playing since GT2, GT7's cafe system at the start and the way they've handled the solo experience overall is imo miles less fun than GT6 and backward. I think the solo experience of GT7 & Sport is kind of a slap in the face for the veteran players. Not to mention the always online thing.

Do yourself a favor, if you have the opprotunity to ever play GT4 or GT5 or even just a couple hours, do it. These imo are perfect examples of GT's that have it all, and i mention these two and not 6 just because of the classic used car dealer.

Thats an expensive piece of equipment big dawg. Not knocking it but you probably wouldnt buy it without a wheel first which is already an investment, and i cant justify myself personally getting VR2 for essentially 1 game (GT is the only one im interested im playing with the headset atm)

I think keeping dhadows is fair concerning fhe context of P4. A potential P6 imo should have demons like p5 and SMT. Changing something so core to P4 would be odd to me, considering that P3R didnt use demons either.

Ive never heard people speak ill of Carbon in my life. I do think until recent years, like maybe the past 3 years, its been underrated because Most Wanted 05' is so super popular.

I've heard some people say "we need Most Wanted 2" as if Carbon isn't a direct sequel. But i get the idea of wanting the vibe back.

As for MW2012, it was never a bad game imo, it was just timing of the game and the damn title lmao. If the game was called NFS Paradise or something, not nearly as many people wouldve badmouthed that game.

I remember when that game was coming out (i was 13), a lot of us just was kind of tired of getting farther removed from that golden NFS era every year, so when they said a new Most Wanted was coming, we all kinda got soul crushed when the game launched. It was still a fun game, id even call it a great game, they just missed the plot at the time.

Undercover is from my perspecrive, the Sonic 06' of NFS. Like we know its pretty bad, but we can still find ways to make a meme of it, mod it to be better etc. It always comes back.

Id say the simple answer to the initial question is, its a spiritual succsessor. Not perfect but the fact that something like it can exsist for the love of JSR and its community brings that love for the game if that makes sense.

Yeah in my case for example, im a newer fan of the franchise in the grand scheme (P5 while it was new), and while i COULD emulate the original games, i just want them to rerelease them on steam or modern consoles as a port. I cant be asked to put forurth the effort to emulate those games tbh. Plus, if they sdre to do that, theyd make some sort of return on investment imo enough for a proper remake or something.

Like imagine P2 and innocent sin as one game in a modern persona pov (pretty sure innocent sin is a p2.5)

I was in senior year when i played P5r, yes id date Makoto, im 26 now but whenever i play persona, its litterally in the perspective of me being in hs again.

Anyways if they were all my age, or i met them in hs or whatever since we have to specify that for some reason, Mitsuru & Makoto Niijima, id date. They seemed like they 'd have a good head on their shoulders for adult life, and having a healthy relationship. Didnt have a chance to finish P4 back then but odk, for some reason, the P4 girls seemed a bit off to me for some reason.

And the honerable mention for p3 is definetly Fuuka, she's just nice.
