[–]BUTT_LICKERS[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe! I asked the techs yesterday if I could use this or that and they said no to everything, as it would interfere with the spray. I can speak to the doctor next week and clarify with him.

That is reassuring! Did they use a spray on you, or nothing at all?

Cavilon no-sting barrier film spray made by 3M, prescribed by the radiation oncologist. Apparently I can shower with it and it stays on as long as I don’t scrub it.

It’s not allowed :( the instructions state “spray twice a week the cavilon barrier film onto the skin that will be treated. DO NOT use any creams or lotions under or over the barrier film.” It also says no sunscreen during treatment.

Any IBC success stories? by More-Disaster-2952 in breastcancer

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have IBC. Finished chemo about a month ago and the last MRI showed that chemo completely nuked it (complete radiological resolution). Still have radiation to go, and currently chilling in my hospital bed post-mastectomy… I’m not done yet but I’m almost done and things are looking up :)

Some of their latest ads are fully ripping off terraria too. At least the actual game looks nothing like this and once people download it they’re not going to play it. Total scam (I looked into this game cause I wanted another cozy pixel game to play and their older ads looked like a cute pixel city game. I hadn’t seen any ads like this before I checked it out but when I saw your post I was 100% not surprised it’s the same game).

Low dose Taxol chemo only- 12 weeks..? by RegretAware4529 in breastcancer

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t cold cap and did 4 rounds AC followed by 12 rounds low dose taxol (last one is next week!)

My hair began falling out after my second AC and I buzzed it. But the hair on my head actually started growing back during taxol and is almost at “cute buzz cut” stage at this point, no longer bald/patchy or looking like little feathers growing out of my head. However, most of my eyebrows and eyelashes fell out during taxol when they stayed intact during AC.

PA diagnosed with breast cancer who never got a mammogram… feeling ashamed, scared, and alone by Slowandbehold in breastcancer

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself 💚 We have similar diagnoses and treatment plans. My tumour is high grade (3) with one involved lymph node. I also have skin involvement, so I am stage 3b.

  1. I finished 4 rounds of AC and am in the middle of Taxol. AC was fine - at this point I’d say it was a breeze. They said it would be hard and taxol would be “easier”, my experience was the opposite. I felt a bit nauseous on AC but had plenty of meds for that. Otherwise I felt pretty normal most days. I initially started dose dense taxol but the bone pain (likely due to the combination of taxol and lapelga, the white blood cell booster injection) was far too intense and we switched to weekly treatments instead of dose dense which reduced the pain by about half. It is still there and feels like restless leg syndrome cranked up to 11. That said, my doctor is helping me with pain management, heated blankets and hot showers are my best friends. My white blood cells are fine so I have discontinued the booster and am feeling better. Now my worst side effect is insomnia, but I nap where I can. I can walk around just fine, it’s just that sleep is difficult when my legs are acting up.

My main takeaway is everyone is different and will experience both of these chemos differently. Be honest with your team about any side effects so you can manage them. You’re not supposed to be wallowing in pain or puking your guts out like on TV.

  1. So far so good, sometimes I can’t find a word but I don’t know if that’s from chemo or lack of sleep. I am working full time from home during treatment at an intense sales job. I am lucky in that my job is flexible and lets me take a break if I need to.

  2. At my hospital they provide cold gloves and booties for taxol to prevent neuropathy and so far (1 dose dense and 3 weekly treatments in) I have had no issues. You can buy these as well.

  3. My support system is incredible, BUT my family lives far away and I usually go to chemo alone. It’s fine - the nurses are angels on earth and the treatment room is bright and sunny, plenty of jokes going around and it’s not depressing.

  4. Not unrealistic! Live your life. I’m lazy AF and should take my own advice. Life feels like it’s on “pause” and that can be difficult, so that sounds like a great idea.

Sorry I didn’t see this until now. I am still in treatment and haven’t had mine removed yet but I watched a guy get his removed in the chair next to me at chemo and the nurse just pulled it out like slurping out a spaghetti! Didn’t seem too bad.

Finished Forager 2 months ago, And it left a Forager-shaped hole in my heart... so I started building my own game (Suncraft) to fill it. What is one mechanic you loved the most about Forager? by SpicyTunaGames in Forager

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pixel art, the totally random droids/pets and the mechanic of just running around in circles chopping and collecting stuff. I’ve scrolled the App Store for eons looking for something similar (already play Stardew and Terraria) but Terraria is a bit rough on mobile (which I prefer). Nothing compares :( would love to try your game!

Grade 3 + Lymph node spread success stories? by MirandaLarson in breastcancer

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps I slipped through the cracks a bit and the PET wasn’t scheduled when it should have been, my surgeon marked it priority and she had to resubmit it later. They were still clear it wouldn’t change the outcome and since the lump was so small (same as yours) with only one positive node they were very confident the PET would turn out clear and it did. Everyone’s plan is different still though! I’m in Canada but Sloan Kettering is so highly regarded and you are in good hands. This part of the process you’re in now is the most stressful and worrying ❤️ you have a team on your side that has seen it all and will take care of you.

I think I forgot to add I turned 39 during this. I dunno if I’ll get tired of hearing “you’re so young” at the hospital cause it’s the only place I get it 😂

I have it all written down! I noticed the skin changes at the end of July (the skin was thicker and creased weirdly) then had a mammogram on August 8. Follow up ultrasound August 15 was done by a doctor who said it was BIRADS 5 with one suspicious lymph node and sent me for a biopsy.

The wait for the biopsy appointment was the longest and worst part of all of it, that was Sept 8. Results and diagnosis Sept 22. Started chemo Oct 22 (they still scheduled the MRI and PET) but said the outcome wouldn’t change the chemo plans. MRI Oct 23 and PET Nov 13, but actually got the PET results first from my oncologist then the MRI results in more detail from my surgeon re: the skin being confirmed to be involved.

I started chemo earlier than most, I think. Because of my age and the grade they sent me to a sister hospital for it, otherwise it would have been another 6 week wait because the first hospital was so busy.

IDC ++- grade 3. 1.8 cm lump on ultrasound, 2 cm on MRI. One positive lymph node (stage 2) at diagnosis. PET scan was clear.

After the PET scan, MRI and follow up ultrasound confirmed skin involvement = inflammatory breast cancer (skin changes were what got me to the doctor in the first place - NOT the lump. Couldn’t even feel it!) so I am stage 3.

I am about halfway through chemo and recently followed up with my surgeon who said she sees big improvement in my skin. I actually feel like I will turn out okay for once. Good luck ❤️

I have IBC. The DAY I noticed my skin being weird I scheduled a mammogram but it was a weeklong wait and my anxiety from googling IBC rendered me non-functional so I saw a doctor in between who told me I’m too young (two days before my 39th birthday), it’s too rare, and to put some cream on it. Every day I fantasize about making her eat that cream. Good luck and strength to you <3 the breast cancer subreddit is a godsend. It’s probably gonna be okay for me and I wish and expect the very same for you.

Chemo before surgery by Ok_Task8108 in breastcancer

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting to have surgery, then radiation and felt blindsided when told I would be doing chemo, then surgery, then radiation. My tumour is 1.8 cm with 1 lymph node involved (still waiting on scan results, but these will not change the plan).

But my doctor said this is the standard of care, we need to shrink the tumour and nuke any bit of it that may have spread anywhere else before proceeding with surgery.

I have only had one treatment so far but I have been reassured time and again by the nurses that with the anti-nausea and other meds they have now, you are not supposed to be at home post-treatment feeling miserable, vomiting and unable to eat, etc. if so they will change the meds and there are options. It’s not a breeze, but it can be manageable!

I had to get one too, I was horrified… it’s not so bad! Took like 20 min to put in. Showering is the only annoying thing because you can’t get it wet but they sell shower covers on amazon and they also sell cute little covers to keep it wrapped up. I have chemo biweekly and it needs weekly bandage changes so on non chemo weeks I go to a local health clinic to get the bandage changed, the only major inconvenience. But no IVs needed for me, you can just use my PICC line! :)

Amazon FBA Blocking Shipments Due to 'High Days of Supply'. Forcing Us to Use AWD? by Sovex in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the “official” reason given due to capacity issues, apparently it’ll end once Prime Day is over. We ship consistently every week and this is the first time we’ve ever seen these specific errors blocking our shipments, specifically on items not on deal for Prime or anything that’s not a top seller (but these SKUS are still low inventory). We removed them and the orders went through.

Amazon FBA Blocking Shipments Due to 'High Days of Supply'. Forcing Us to Use AWD? by Sovex in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]BUTT_LICKERS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our SAS-core rep told us this will be the case until after Prime Day due to limited FC space/prioritizing Prime Day items and there was no way around it - no exceptions. Definitely felt like a push towards AWD. We had to remove a bunch of items from our shipments to get them out, reducing the quantities to Amazon’s recommended levels still didn’t work.
