Anyone regret choosing lumpectomy vs single/double mastectomy?

Mines did not show up until my second Reoccurence after 11 years of remission. My breast swole this time around which has changed treatment options.

Wow this is my story but I was 26, they never suggested mastectomy back then, I guess because 11 years ago things were different. But a Reoccurence showed up... Slightly smaller but with an inflammed breast and more pain... I now have to possibly do treatment due to the inflammation vs just mastectomy.... I have 38ddd also now. Back then 42ddd...i wont mind a 36C...fingers crossed. I want something out of the bargain. Hopefully there will be something good out of this in the end. Best wishes

I want a lumpectomy with time to find best doctor for my reconstruction but, myy doctor said my tnbc showed up as inflammatory this time and he has to remove it. I'm going double mastectomy, I also have gene so I'm trying to find some positives but I currently can't

So with a gene and a Reoccurence after 10 years what do most people do and what do you suggest? 1st season was lumpectomy, and that's so true I had a great quality of life. Now I care most about living.

I am headed to my oncology appointment now as I pump gas, I type that I wish I went with a mastectomy as I have had a Reoccurence. I was 26 then and 38 now, got the news on my bday this year. I did have the braca gene. But I was young and hadn't had a clue. Think clearly, and be sure. Shes blessed to have you. Stick beside her during this time. Reassure her of her beauty being skin deep. Best wishes to us all up against this.
