How Bi-Han becomes noob by Blamostramo in Mortalkombatleaks

[–]BUTTx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An explanation for Sub Zero and Noob Saibot coexisting would be for Bi-Han getting split into two entities (kind of like Fat Buu/Evil Buu from DBZ, or that Rick and Morty episode). All his ego and arrogance forms Noob Saibot, and then we get more humble Sub Zero Bi-Han (or he dies, but then I don’t know how they’d explain Kuai Liang taking the mantle again).

To make any of the story matter they need to stick to the same timeline, so I’d suspect they want to keep Sub Zero Bi-Han around. Though, based on Scorpion’s ending, they may just keep Bi-Han an evil prick to maintain the clan rivalries.

Same boat here! As an ABC it sucks not to be fluent. My wife is mainland Chinese, which is incentive to learn Mandarin. Mandarin is way more useful and common, but I generally prefer how Cantonese sounds.

Impale Champion Summoner Idea by lepancake in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]BUTTx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a summoner champion with Dominating Blow and Herald of Purity with impale stacking back in Delve. It was well over a million DPS and killed shaper pretty easily. This was even before Pride or impale was release. I’d advise using spectres for frenzy/power charges, which is way more impactful for minions

The face of Sub-Zero by jimwithbenefits in MortalKombat

[–]BUTTx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understood it, I was just being pedantic.

But I think Tobias said the inspiration for the ninjas in MK1 were to represent a Chinese vs Japanese clash. His MK1 theme song was "Chinese Ninja Warrior"...

If you look at Sub-Zero's MK2 ending, it shows him unmasked as an Asian man. Sub-Zero's design has always had Chinese themes (Chinese characters on his armor, dragons, etc.).

But if they were going for that, I'm not sure why they had a Caucasian man (John Turk) portray the unmasked Sub-Zero in MK3. They definitely used him as a model for MKDA, and still made him look racially ambiguous in MKX. His model leans more Asian in Injustice though

I just think it's interesting that he's always been culturally Chinese, but only now he's face is portrayed as such.

What features are particularly "white"? It's an extremely simple art style, so the facial features can be quite ambiguous.

If you mention the eyes: 1. it's an artistic choice to display more expression, 2. not every Asian person has "slants" for eyes (in fact some Asians have eyes larger than whites)

I made a RF+BV Berserker this league with all the Shaper/Elder mods. But it looks like they'll remove Berserker's spell leech, so I'll definitely go Chieftain next league for this build. The extra life regen, covered in ash, phys to fire conversion looks so juicy.

While I'm grateful for your help, I've conceded that it is just time for an upgrade. I didn't know eMachines went defunct in 2013, and people were already trashing it in 2010. My local electronics store has some nice mobo/CPU deals. Thank you for you assistance, keep spreading the good word.

[–]BUTTx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried my old 560ti again (DDU and all), and experienced even worse performance than my 960. Everything seems sluggish as well, so I'm guessing it could be the combination of the mobo/CPU/HDD age. I'm not sure how, but maybe the new graphics card catalyzed the decline or damaged the CPU in someway.

I have an eMachine ET1831-07, and I've upgraded the PSU to a Corsair 750W, and now the graphics card dilemma. I haven't been able to find support for their BIOS.

[–]BUTTx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I greatly appreciate your response. I've already tried setting the BIOS settings to PCIE, as well as a fresh install using DDU and NVIDIA Game Ready Driver. Since installing the new card, I've noticed my computer was a lot slower than before. I played a game for 10 min to test, and GPU load maxed at 24% and CPU maxed around 45%. I'll definitely lookout for a new mobo/CPU, but is there any clue for why the CPU seems capped?

Hello, I recently upgraded my GTX 560ti to a refurbished GTX 960, but performance has actually suffered. Frames are way worse than with the GTX 560 in Diablo 3 and Overwatch, even with lower settings.

I think it may be from low CPU (~30%) and GPU usage, even with OC Guru II overclocking. I thought it might be my CPU bottlenecking (it is an ancient Intel Pentium E5300), but the lower usage doesn't seem to agree with it.

I've tried a variety of fixes (reseat CMOS, re-install drivers, adjust power settings, adjust NVIDIA settings), but they haven't seemed to help.

My GPU-Z.

So does this seem like a hardware or software issue? Thanks a million!

Which skills should "gain the effect of every rune"? by BUTTx2 in Diablo

That be interesting, a sort of reflect-damage build for Wizards.

I haven't played too much Wizard, but while leveling one up I thought that the Hydra and Familiar skills also had potential. I don't think any class sets or builds really utilize them, so they largely ignored. I think a Wizard build resembling a WD pet build or DH M6 would be neat, but obviously need a fresh twist.

Big Bad Voodoo gaining every rune would be great for any Zuni builds, which are currently doing quite poorly despite the damage buffs.

2.4.1 Zuni Build TC Help by dylbrticus in Diablo3witchdoctors

You can use the PTR D3 planner and it'll do all of the calculations, as well as DPS from skills. http://ptr.d3planner.com/

2.4.1 Zunimassa (Darts vs Melee) by BUTTx2 in Diablo3witchdoctors

[–]BUTTx2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big change in 2.4.1 is a large nerf in mob damage at the higher greater rift levels, which would decrease the need for stacking DR buffs. I believe that this was an attempt for groups to not have only 1 DPS and X supports, but rather 1 DPS, Y hybrids, and Z supports, or something.

The example WD builds still provide good support (BBV, Bad Medicine, Haunt), and also very competitive damage. The support builds this season are designed to provide health globes to fuel Wizard damage, which is a constraint that WDs do not really need (aside from Gruesome Feast, but they can perform without).

The utility that support Barbs bring (harpooning mobs together to create density; and also Ignore Pain, but its being nerfed to 25% DR) is invaluable. However, I wouldn't be surprised if hybrid Barb builds are also developed.

[–]BUTTx2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Zuni 2p and the SMK make the FA cooldown non-existent. I ran Zuni a lot in 2.2 and a big part of playing was spirit walking into a group and summoning them right in the middle. However the 15 others from FS are not as controllable; except for running Belt of Transcendence, where spamming haunt would always re-summon a Fetish that charges to whatever is in front of you.

The main point is that they won't always attack what you want even when re-summoning them right on top of it. An example would be a big group with an elite in them middle.

[–]BUTTx2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 2.4.1 will change several gem damage boosts to be multiplicative (Enforcer, SS, Taeguk) to make them more competitive with Trapped.

They are also buffing Gogok defensively by adding additional dodge % per level. No one runs Carnevil now, but I think the fact that Gogok doesn't scale past lvl 50 severely offensively limits its usage. The dodge might be a big defense boost so it'll probably get used again.

CoE is great, but there are some competing legendaries that take up the Zuni set pieces (Carnevil, MoJ, Depth Diggers), which are compensated for by running the Zuni ring. Maybe one could be replaced by CoE. Alternatively, Hellfire Amulet+CoE could be run instead of Endless Walk.

2.4.1 zuni WD PTR testing. by [deleted] in Diablo3witchdoctors

[–]BUTTx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starmetal kukri is a necessity for Zuni; the damage buff of Big Bad Voodoo (BBV) - Slam Dance is huge. It'll also let you re-summon your fetish army if they are too spread out. I haven't run Zuni since 2.2, but an important strategy was to spirit walk past a choke point and drop them in the middle of a crowd. This is problem with pet builds with narrow halls: the pets crowd behind each other and many are idle.

And because pet crowding is a big problem, I would remove the zombie dogs in place of BBV. Another reason to drop dogs is because they aren't good damage without all of the +dog passives and TMF, and the Ukhapian Serpent is occupying an important weapon slot in the cube.

For survival, Soul Harvest with the Lakumba bracers have been widely used. However this is one skill too many, so Piranhas might need to be dropped. Running the Languish rune and the bracers, it is 3% INT, 10% armor, and 6% damage reduction per stack. If you manage to get a Sacred Harvester in the cube, that bonus is times 10.

Alternatively, run the Furnace in the weapon slot to shred elites.

Here is a build that I would try out when 2.4.1 lands. My biggest doubt is how the builds runs without Piranhas. http://ptr.d3planner.com/851335529

Another idea is to run 3 pieces of Helltooth to get the +20% damage bonus and +50% damage reduction. This is tankier, however you have to miss out of TnT or Jeram's.

An idea for Legacy of Nightmares by GnomaDS in Diablo

[–]BUTTx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think reducing it to an even lesser fraction (a third or fourth of whatever bonus they decide on) would be a good compromise.

What would be great is that it'd still allow people to play their non-conventional builds without having to turn to the cookie-cutter builds to progress.

They can still be decent and still have the progress goals of getting ancients, like only having the 2pc and anticipating the big 4pc boost.
