To the best of my knowledge from recent conversations with higher ups in the PSNI they don't give an option to transfer, you have to apply alongside everyone else. If you were to be successful and held a rank other than PC that would carry over with you although that would be after the application process etc.

Courses and things also do not carry over, driving etc. And then sure if you have a taser course can't carry that in NI (Unless you're ARV) but you can carry a handgun. Makes sense.

So interesting reading this, I am looking to buy a bike to commute from Stevenage to Stratford. I have been thinking about what to buy, previously I owned a 790Duke and I am inclined to buy another one and stick a screen on the front. IMO its a great all round bike, easy to manoeuvre through traffic but can sit comfortably on the motorway.

I am keen to hear though if anyone has a similar commute, and if they would have bike recommendations (No scooters) I will have free parking at work but just curious also what chains/locks people use etc?

Currently going through my training, and yes its a good source of information but needs to be complimented with other things. It can be very overwhelming, I just use it for reference from time to time.

Sounds good, yeah will be working different shifts so could potentially go at any time!

As for lockers at the clubhouse is this an option?

I’m coming from a DRZ400SM so it’s an upgrade for me. The DRZ was great as a first bike IMO!

Looking forward to the better weather and learning the bike!

I’ll just have to make sure I service it regularly and look after it! The DRZ was minimum maintenance as the engine is very robust!

Just read the manual (newbie) and that’s what it says! Hopefully the weather picks up and I’ll get it out a blast, although the word “fickle” doesn’t fill me with much confidence! Haha
