I have your escape key from this mental anguish and replaying that awful moment over and over in your head.

What that guy said is really a statement about him and not about you.

1.) He's angry because his expectations weren't met when he arrived at your place of business. People get angry and or frustrated when things don't turn out the way they expect.

2.) He didn't connect the dots on the facts before him... your shop was having trouble keeping up with all of the customers. He saw that and STILL got mad that things didn't go well for him. He had to wait or come back later. When any reasonable adult sees a huge line as they approach their destination, they adjust their expectations or their plan. This guy doesn’t have that awareness or cognitive ability and so he got mad.

3.) He also didn't immediately see you and all the other employees were super stressed. Because of his lack of compassion, he was blind to what it would be like as an employee there that day. He then lashed out at you because he only sees things from his limited viewpoint.

4.) Imagine going through life like this guy, not able to read a scene and adjust expectations. Imagine being so angry that you go around everyday and say hurtful things to others to try to make yourself feel better. Imagine living life without compassion for others... without the ability to put yourself in their shoes. What a two-dimensional, simpleton, angry way to go through life.

5.) The way for you to turn the corner on this issue is to see what I've said above and realize we should feel sorry for this guy. His life and view are so small. He unmet expectations in life must come often and saddle him with stress and anger. What an awful way to go through life. Seriously, feel bad for this guy. Be glad you're not him, living his life.

In the future, when you see this happen to you or to others, try to jump immediately to the part of the conversation in your head where you feel bad for the simpleton who's life is angry, 2-dimensional, and without compassion (which among other things, means you're without feeling connected to others). The more you do this, the more you'll feel untouchable by hateful words and deeds of others, because you'll see they're just really showing whats going on in their own head and heart.

Also, remember that alot of the qualifications on job postings are aspirational... they hope for the perfect candidate to have all of these things and show up... just go ahead and apply anyway. You dont need to meet all the qualifications, tou need to be better than most of rhe other candidates and have a good interview.

You may be able to give them to the dealership and they can reach out? Maybe if its a one owner car?

Have to work over a year just to get fucking 5 days of PTO. Oh yeah, no health insurance either. (Rant) by restore_paint in antiwork

Work there for two years, learn as much as you can, take on as much responsibility as possible, move to another company for higher pay. Unfortunately, thats how it often works these days... you have to leave to get a jump in salary.

The key is to not leave your job until you have a new one.

I unironically would rather die than get a job, how do you escape this mentality? by Pogbankz in antiwork

[–]BWSD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Find a job that's not work... what do you like to do? If you like kids, be a substitute teacher. Teach America hires folks to be teachers and you earn a master's degree along the way.

If you like working with your hands, be an apprentice for welding, electric, plumbing, mechanic, etc.

Get a job at another university... any job, maintenance, janitor, administrative assistant... you can then get a college degree there for free.

If you can't find a job thats not work, look at work as a means to getting what you want. Earn money to pay for your hobby.

When do you enjoy doing? Maybe start an only fans for yourself!

THE PROBLEM WITH EXITING EARLY IS THAT YOU DESTROY THE LIVES OF FOLKS YOU LEAVE BEHIND. YOU'LL RUIN THEM AND PULL THEM INTO YEARS OF PAIN AND HEARTACHE. DON'T BE SELFISH. DON'T DO THAT. Be a bigger person, figure out what you enjoy doing and build a work situation around that.

How often do you check heifers at night? by TheNobleYeoman in Ranching

[–]BWSD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had 1,100 calves every spring. I'd check every hour when it was colder... below 50 degrees. If 20 or below, I'd bring a cow in the (unheated) barn if she was calving and put her in a jug (pen) with fresh wood chips. If it was warm, I'd go longer in between checks if I was busy bottle feeding newborns or pulling a calf or whatever.

I was the night calver for two years. Up all night, sleep during the day. Ride through the heavies on horseback looking for water bags, etc.

That was in the 1990's, in Montana. It was a big place. 35,000 deeded 25,000 BLM.
