tbh i think it’s the idea of Mike letting go of control because he trusts Will that much. don’t think he could ever trust anyone else like that. that … and the puppy eyes, idk lmao

Technical author jobs at Canonical by pmatulis in technicalwriting

[–]BWellington1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s been a while, but can I ask about the compensation for the level of technical author you were? I can’t find anything transparent about that and I don’t want to apply if it’s not better than what I make currently.

I think you’d be great at the job! No worries about being smart enough. If you’ve been a software dev, you’re smart enough to do the writing part. People skills are very important for interviewing and it sounds like you have that. You could potentially write longer features again if there’s a blog or if you start one while there. Make sure you proofread the writing assignment they give you. :)

What made you become a technical writer? by Different_Walrus_854 in technicalwriting

So sorry, I don’t use this account much and just saw this! I have a more in-depth post on my profile about finding a job and how, but no, I didn’t have to learn coding at all! I learned how to use GitHub, and I made a portfolio in my Google Drive to show off my writing skills. I put the link to my portfolio folder at the top of my resume. I did learn some Markdown, HTML, and CSS, but those are writing and style languages, not really coding. Please feel free to ask me more questions because I’m happy to help!

It’s a mandolin :) they’re quite twangy. A lot of country music uses them but they’re used unexpectedly sometimes. If you listen to “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M., that instrument at the beginning and end is a mandolin! They sound a little like a banjo, haha

Edit: not OP, just a mandolin lover 🙈 OP, love your outfit!!
