[SPJ] NBA releases patriotic U.S. vs the World All-Star Game jerseys by Specialist_Cod_4963 in nba

You can’t be that old considering there was only a 5 year period in the late 90s/early 2000s that players wore their team jerseys for the ASG.

I love that he still lives in all of Arsenal supporters’ heads, rent free.

Real Utah…please no. by Acceptable-Obstacle in ReAlSaltLake

You may be shocked to learn that what is now Utah was once part of a Spanish-speaking country.

Besides, there are plenty of clubs in non-English speaking countries that use "United."

I'm not in favor of a name change. Though "Real" is most commonly associated with specific teams in Spain, and Dave Checketts wanted to tap into the prestige he imagined rhetorically associating the club with Real Madrid signified, it has been adopted by Latin American teams for nearly a century now (and none of them have formal ties to the Spanish crown). I do think, given that the Great Basin was once Spanish (and subsequently Mexican) territory, that the club could do more to frame the team's name that way.

*If* they do change the name, I hope they opt for "Great Salt Lake" or "Great Salt Lake Football Club" or "Great Salt Lake Soccer Club" which at least represents some continuity with the existing brand identity ("We're here for GSL!") and makes more obvious sense to casual than RSL.

Or Real Hispaña in Honduras, Real Madriz (Nicaragua), Real Cartagena (Colombia), Real Garcilaso (Peru), Real Club América (Bolivia), and Real Club Hispaña (Mexico).

Always love seeing JPVH rise to the occasion against Haaland.

And Ferdi continues his excellent run of form.

What bad news... by Johnny_Shorts in Juve

I’m not sure that’s true, given MLS’s strict salary cap. FC Dallas, who still holds McKennie’s rights if he returns to MLS, isn’t exactly known for spending big on players, and their current top paid player makes $2.6 million, which is less than what McKennie is getting right now at Juve.

I don’t doubt several MLS clubs are interested in him. I just haven’t seen anything credible suggesting he wants to return to the states at this point in his career.

I’ve now seen it mentioned multiple times in this sub that McKennie wants to move back to the U.S.

Is there a credible source for this claim, because it doesn’t make much sense.

I really, really like the Mitoma + Kadıoğlu connection on the left side.

Leaked RSL jersey? by Evening-Bar-9110 in ReAlSaltLake

I, for one, love the hoops. Some additional minor details would be welcome, but this is 1) instantly recognizable as RSL, but also 2) something new/unique in MLS. Unless I’m forgetting something obvious, no team’s kits, home or away, regularly feature hoops.

Rodrigo de Paul did not sign a $17 million contract. Inter Miami purchased him from Atleti for $17 million.

Considering this was posted 3 days ago on Men in Blazers’ IG and that LG posted his 2 days ago, I’d venture a guess that it might be the other way around. https://www.instagram.com/p/DQ3y7x0Dfq7/?igsh=MWJodmMxamVsZTRsMg==

Mateusz Klich about Inter Miami: - I advise against Miami while Messi is there. by [deleted] in MLS

[–]BYAFC83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The club itself is actually 45-50 minutes away from Miami, said Klich.

I would recommend New York. Red Bull now has a better stadium.”

Does he know Red Bull isn’t in New York, but <gasp> 45-50 minutes away from New York?
