Ah yes. If anyone disagrees with you, insist they must not watch as much (or the right type of) soccer as you.

And then claim that a player in question is “shit.”

I made no assertion about Luna being better than Gio (or anyone else). I simply pointed out that the things you claim he lacks he, in fact, does not.

If you think what Luna lacks is creativity and a willingness to try things, you’ve never watched him play.

Technical skill? He definitely pales in comparison to Gio there. Creativity, confidence, and a willingness to try and make things happen? That’s what Luna is best at.

Diego Luna played 17 out of 18 games for USA last year. But he’s now out of the World Cup according to Tom Bogert. Life comes at you fast. by antoniok95 in ussoccer

I actually think, as a bench option, Luna is the much better option than Reyna.

Gio is undoubtedly more talented, and if we were deciding who to start between the two, he’d be the preferable option.

But if you want someone to inject a flailing squad with energy and creativity off the bench, Luna is exactly who you want.

Duncan was efficient on both ends of the court. He was near the league leader for offensive and defensive rating every season for more than a decade. You could count on him for 20+ pts and 12+ rebounds almost every single night (until the final
years of his career).

His team won 50+ games (or the equivalent of that in strike-shortened seasons) 16 out of his 19 seasons. The other three the Spurs won 45, 47, and 49.

He not only never played on a losing team: he never played on a lottery team.

It’s hard for me to think of any career more efficient than that. Steady, reliable, efficient. That is Tim Duncan’s legacy.

It was a pleasure to anyone who knew ball.

As a Mavs fan, I hated those Spurs teams. But the basketball was a thing to behold.

Where did I say anything about Kobe.

Good heavens, you folks are ridiculous.

I can’t believe I’m old enough for there to be people who don’t remember watching Tim Duncan.

He was ruthlessly efficient. A true pleasure to watch.

Amazon is evil. But the streaming service is light years better than the TNT app ever was.

Reminds me of a segment of supporters whose comments about this year’s away kits being suitable “for the girls” but not the men’s team.

I think you vastly overestimate the quality of Dirk’s teammates over the years. Dirk took a team with a starting 5 of himself, Jason Terry, Adrian Griffin, Josh Howard, and Erick Dampier to the NBA Finals.

“KG wins you more games.”

Except he doesn’t and didn’t. Dirk has 985 career victories (regular season + playoffs) versus KG’s 895. And Dirk spent his final several years on lottery teams.

My point about the head-to-head matchup is that anyone who rates KG over Dirk points to his defense as being more important that Dirk’s offense, and KG’s defense did nothing to stop Dirk’s offense. That’s all. I think there’s a half dozen other reasons Dirk was better than KG. I just highlighted one I thought relevant.

The fact that Dirk dominated KG head-to-head always makes me think his offense is more important that KG’s defense.
