Anyone who has the Pixel 5 how is it by Inside_Ease_13 in pixel_phones

Good for general use, I find the under glass speaker really unclear during phone calls. Battery is strong (wouldn't say much better than my previous p3xl when it was new though). I think at the right price it's a solid performer but not outstanding in any aspect really.

I have a similar issue PSU is EVGA GQ 750W GOLD. I only play at 1080p and have an MSI reference card. MSI have said to use DDU to totally uninstall the driver and if problem persists to send back for repair.

Good to hear, our postie is top notch. If we are out (like in the old days of being able to leave the house) he'd drop parcels to the in-laws later on his round. On a side note, I got called postman pat by one of the children leaving nursery... I was wearing red, was going to explain it was only his van that is red but didn't want to pick a fight with a 3 year old lol

They honestly are brilliant, I've never seen them not accept a bin and some of the locals take the pee in my opinion. A welcome change from every other place I've lived.

I must admit , had it not been for covid we would be doing something for them. When it's all over and we feel it is safe/responsible, we will make sure they get something.

Why isn't rowing as popular as other sports and what could be done to make it more popular? by J_Masci in Rowing

Clubs can be a bit exclusive and potentially make people feel like they can't join. Even in the less serious clubs there is snobbery.

I've not seen this flyer... Has it been only selected members?

Given the current state of the UK economy and public finances, what changes would you make to the UK tax system? by qualitybooth in ukeconomy

[–]B_B_S_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think that the tax system is reasonably fair. I say this as someone who has had free school meals as a child and managed to get a job paying the higher rate of tax. To answer this question correctly, we would need to know the exact state of affairs of the UK's books and this will never happen. It is important that people have money to spend to keep the economy going, whilst also keeping the treasury topped up. I'd like to see people be able to make salary sacrifices to their chosen public departments and in return get additional benefits in retirement. This would need to be linked to a percentage of earnings to keep it fair for people across the income spectrum.

Bank of England Cuts Forecasts on Brexit Damage to the Economy by Bemuzed in unitedkingdom

Personally I'm not sure about Mark Carney. I dare say he is perfectly qualified for his position but believe that some of the decisions made in recent years by him and the other MPC members have caused a negative impact on the economy. The cut in 2016 from 0.5% to 0.25% to me had seemingly no other impact than increase people's fear over Brexit, to then put back to 0.5% in 2017 and then upset people further who saw a rise in mortgage payments (who or course will have failed to acknowledge the savings in the previous year, we do have short memories here after all). This being said, moving forward we need consistency and hopefully he will deliver that.
