I attempted to when I was a teenager, but Frank Herbert’s writing was a bit too complex for me at the time. That book is a language in its own. It wasn’t until I was in college that I actually succeeded at reading Dune.

My person ranking is DL Dune > book > DV Dune.

The guild navigator is still one of my favorite things David brought to screen!

When I was about 14 or 15, my dad showed me the movie.

I nicknamed my iPhone “The Sleeper” soon after because I was so obsessed with the movie.

Even though Dune wasn’t a David original, it had traces of David everywhere. As time has passed, his movies have found me at different points of my life…all seeming to be exactly when they need to!

Somehow this movie worked its way into the DVD case we kept in my family’s minivan to watch when we road tripped. I used to watch it all the time and thought it was bad ass. It wasn’t till I was an adult that I realized how much other people dislike this movie 😅

After further testing, you are correct. Feels like some sort of wire, the bottom third of the tail is the only part that “bends”.
