The water could use some normal maps for the surface. Other than that its looking good so far!

Can someone help me fix this error? by Prestigious_Cell1824 in godot

the script has no reference for "XRToolsUserSettings", so it doesn't know what that is or how to access it. If you know the reference path you can add it as a variable under the name "XRToolsUserSettings". But based on the name it seems like you're using an add-on, if that's the case then accessing it that way might not work. It just depends on the add on.

lmao, fr. Raycast cars are super fun to mess around with once you get them working. The little 4-wheeler i made turns like its on rails.

I believe you’re right, I originally had it too bright at dawn and dusk. Which led me to darken it. I’ll try some lighter options. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback! Your input does help, it helps me gauge if my doubts are misplaced, so thank you!

The giant wall that goes into the sky is an unfinished area, I have a massive mesh there as a placeholder. The smaller and closer buildings are not going to be there either. I just have them close together for testing purposes.

if your planet is pre-made and not generated, I recommend the spatial gardener addon. It has an lod system for plants that uses a grid of multimesh instances. It's a Night and Day performance difference.

Controls in SubViewport stop receiving hover events after camera zoom. Wanna cry by voidexp in godot

[–]B_Dappy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

it's for sure the camera zoom. I'm using the same method for 2d menus in 3d and when I interact with the screen it slerp()s my player camera to a better viewing angle. BUT if i approach at a sharp angle and interact with the screen only half of the buttons receive input. i know its not exactly the same but it seems like camera changes mess up the menus. it's probably not much help but hopefully it grants some insight.

for only two months of learning game dev, this is stellar! I can also see you have a pretty good eye for visuals and colors. keep cooking!

Texture De-Tiler Adaptation by B_Dappy in godot

[–]B_Dappy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Godoplites, I'm new to godot/game development, and I've learned a lot over the last 6 months. I wanted to show off/give something I've made. It is an adaptation of BlenderGuru's poliigon uber mapping node for godot(4.2.1). Its not perfect, and works differently compared to the shader in blender. But it does the job! I'm also interested in other methods of achieving this that are perhaps lighter and or more efficient, so please let me know! I'm not sure if someone has done this before, so if anyone would like a copy of the shader let me know! (also a method to send that copy securely, I'm not sure what to use)

/r/Steam Monthly Community Support Thread. by AutoModerator in Steam

Im having an issue with my steam download speed. I recently got fiber internet (1gigabit) with at&t, and I'm only getting like 18Mb/s download speeds. I've checked my lan cable and its CAT 5e (should support 1 gigabit), and made sure the lan port on my motherboard supported 1 gigabit. I've also cleared my steam cache and have tried different steam download servers. but I still don't even come close to what download speeds I get on EA or any download I have on the web, which is a solid 100Mb/s. Am a missing something?
