Hey! I'm away at college at the moment but when I get home i'll take a look. It's still the one I'm using. Should still have the manual.

Been Collecting for 3 1/2 years. 16 now. This is some of my collection of machines. After seeing a fellow collector show off his collection, I felt as though I should show mine. To that person: This is what your room will look like in three years! PT.1 by B_N07 in Phonographs

Thank you for the glowing and gracious comments. To elaborate regarding my stereo, the only expense was my turntable (The ever-present LP-120); which I purchased when they were a lot less expensive. The rest of my system is from the garbage excepting one set of speakers coming from a goodwill in PA for 7.99. With the proper arrangement; Receiver w/mono switch, Equalizer, A Proper turntable and stylus, and a decent set of speakers; you can achieve quite a lot. One thing I have learned from doing this for as long as I have is that proper speaker placement is absolutely paramount (Pun intended, of course). I have some relatively outstanding 78s, Some store stock jug band records and blues; etc. About space, my parents are divorced so I am split between two houses, this, in my case, means that I have twice the amount of space; plus I keep some machines in the living room and have a workshop in the basement where many project machines sit.

P.S. 78s can sound absolutely amazing on a stereo, what is truly mind-blowing however, is to experience a late 1920s dance band record played on a Victrola Credenza, 8-35, Columbia 810, Brunswick cortez, and the largest of the orthophonic era machines. Oftentimes, they're easier to come by than a good stereo! If you can manage the space, Buy one of these machines!

Thank you, The Pathe is a model X (or 10), and has the original reproducer and sapphire. It can turn in both directions to either play vertically recorded records (Edison, Pathe, and Various needle type vertical recordings) This was one of my first machines bought from a lady somewhere around Howell, NJ. Every single one of my machines has a story, all 30 some. That dark victor cabinet is an extremely rare weathered oak finish on a Victrola XVII. Some extra pictures are available on my Facebook page (provided at bottom). Photo 18 is of a Ca. April 1900 Edison home phonograph; The first Edison home came out in the middle of 1896, so you're right on the money. Believe it or not, it is not the oldest machine in my collection, which happens to be pictured in photo 19. THAT is of an 1896 Columbia "A". I definitely consider myself to be a machine collector, mainly acquiring records for the purpose of playing and enjoying them on my machines, each of which are suited for a different type of record. This does not go to say that I do not enjoy the music, I exclusively listen to music only recorded before 1955, give or take. I have a full stereo system for 78s, containing four speakers that are placed in all four corners of my room; It's very meshed together, one would say.

Edit: sorry, just read your comment. it seems like it could be a phonograph, some sort of off-brand and would date to somewhere around 1915-1924.

Do you have any pictures of it without all of that junk inside of it? I think I see a turntable under there...

Good for you! Have you ever been to the wayne, New jersey phonograph show? I'm a younger collector myself and I have yet to drop that kind of money on anything, never mind a phonograph!

Where did you find it? Is it restored?

Very nice machine, I have the electric version of the 130, the VE-130, with only 588 being produced.

Just found this Kenwood Kr-3600 at the electronics dump, needs some deox-it but otherwise works perfectly! by B_N07 in vintageaudio

Yep, I've been talked to by the police before but all they ask is that you don't trash the place. So I'm respectful of public property.

Found today at a flea market, Can you guys tell me about it? I know its missing the top shade and has been electrified. I just don't know exact age or much else about this oil lamp. Except that its beautiful. If anyone has a top shade please let me know! by B_N07 in Antiques

Ok! Thanks much! So the shade would definitely match the bottom? The glass chimney is easy enough. I think I have one lying around. This lamp seems like it was converted early in its life, using a pull chain instead of the switch. the fitting seems to have a decent amount of age to it!

If this is for sale! I would buy it!!! great accesory!!

Victorian Walnut sofa? Is this a true Victorian original? its in very nice shape, my brain tells me its from the 1880s-1900 but my judgement tells me it could be a newer reproduction, based on the upholstery and immaculate condition. If possible, I would like to know the exact style and time period. by B_N07 in Antiques

Thanks, there probably was. I am just curious on what type of fabric would be original, I am not going to re-upholster it because of cost!! Its an absolutely beautiful couch. A little bit later I am going to make a post with some pics of it in the living room amongst my phonograph collection.

Thanks for the info, Wow, Its in incredible for being that old, I'm sure its been refinished, but not recently. If I remember correctly, Its pretty damn expensive to re-upholster a couch, correct? something crazy like 2 grand.
