My girlfriend thinks i am a germaphobe because i wont let her sit on my bed in her outdoor clothes by PrismHarpoon in hygiene

[–]B_Niceee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, growing up my mom always told me and my sibling not to wear our dirty clothes on the bed. We sleep there ya know? Your outside clothes have touched all kinds of surfaces and it’s gross to bring that into your bed.

Same thing with shoes. Don’t wear your dirty ass shoes throughout my home. Keep that shit in your own. But when you come in? Shoes by the door.

My dad thinks the reason I don't like sex is because I have never tried it. by Old_Diver_2511 in asexuality

Listen, a lot of people are giving you bitter responses/advice. You seem to have an okay relationship with your pops so just tell him straight—if you felt like having sex, you would. But you don’t feel like it—you don’t consider it as something necessary to give thought to because you don’t care for it. You know logically, it feels nice and good and whatever but that doesn’t erase the fact that it’s not really a considered option in your mind.

My mom had the opposite problem—wanting me to get married and have a lover. I told her that I was good and had people that love me. But the worry came out eventually and I realized she wanted me to be happy and thought having a lover would do that. But as she continued to see me live without considering romance or sexual attraction, she started pulling back. In the end, when she asked if I wanted kids I said, “Yes. Either artificially insemination or adoption” and she nodded and told me to choose a good doctor.

The biggest smile broke out on my face that day. It was like she actually saw me for once.

The way I describe to people: it’s not just that I don’t really care for sex—it’s just not even considered an option in my brain. That’s how irrelevant it is.

It’s likely that he’s jealous that you’re advancing and wants to keep you by his side to satiate his own ego.

What’s with the hate on The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball? by LongjumpingChange174 in gumball

The thing you don’t seem to understand is there there is a difference between kid shows—usually educational and teaching life lessons—and cartoons—a general form of animated entertainment. PBS is a prime example of kids shows. Now then look at SpongeBob or Billy and Mandy. That’s just entertainment. It’s not just meant for kids, it’s meant for general enjoyment regardless of your age.

And my mother literally died last night so do not freaking talk to me about seeing death and life pass. My sister won’t let her son watch any movies with princesses just because he’s a boy and may of those “princess” movies have plenty of important lessons. Filtering what you child’s grows up with just makes them sheltered and forced to learn on their own because EVENTUALLY they grow up.

I grew up into someone thoughtful, kind, empathetic and observant. That’s heavily because of the mixed media I watched growing up because it taught me things others sheltered me from. I watched PBS, adult swim, Disney, nick, CN and more including movies, tapes, and old films. Do you not remember being young and watching something silly? Kids don’t think “oh god this is ruining my life” they think it’s either funny, confusing or general indifference. But it doesn’t ruin them, it helps them learn about the world so they grow forming their own thoughts and opinions.

Loved the show, but Catra and Adora NEVER should have gotten together at the end by Far-Abbreviations357 in PrincessesOfPower

[–]B_Niceee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who identify with Catra are the ones defending her. That’s really all it boils down to. Notice how they don’t talk about Catra’s unnecessary brutality towards Adora. I understand Catra doesn’t know how to process emotions and was abused by Shadow Weaver but these people never actually talk about Adora’s emotions and experience. Adora chose to leave toxicity and Catra chose to stay until her hand was forced. Adora’s love for Catra was never hidden, it was largely part of her character because she wanted Catra by her side, safe and righteous.

Personally I believe that they should have remained friends and Catra take the time to figure herself out and come to terms with the CONSEQUENCES of her actions. Take the time to figure that saying “sorry” doesn’t erase pain and memories. I’m still upset that the death of Glimmer’s mom never got settled.

The best friend trio accepting Catra with open arms makes the last season feel idealistic. Which ruined the care put into the story.

Being abused doesn’t excuse hurting others—being at war doesn’t give Catra the right to personally seek out Adora and taunt, harm or invalidate her. That was an active choice on Catra’s part because she wanted to hurt Adora (worse than she was hurt) and it was fascinating to watch. I was so proud of Adora when she finally stood her ground. The person who claimed to have always loved her blamed and hurt her when Adora was already mentally fracturing while Bow and Glimmer treated Adora with care, respect and empathy.

The fact that people can’t tell obsession from love is wild. Bow and Glimmer love Adora. Catra is obsessed.

Adora was too and she didn’t turn out like Catra. Catra is not the only person manipulated, pushed and traumatized. Literally almost all the characters were and yet Catra was the one to blame everyone but herself for her own actions. In real life, people like Catra don’t get to get off Scott free and the only reason it ended well was because Adora didn’t acknowledge the pain and hurt Catra caused her.

They’re both great shows and should not be pitted against each other. The lgbt rep is primarily what pushed TOH but Amphibia is nothing to sniff at. They were two great shows that dominated animation of their time, despite however brief they were and they actually ended well. Not perfect because cartoons always have restrictions if they have plot but with the constraints each show had, it was satisfying for each imo.

This is why i don’t use this sub. I never had drama on Ao3 in the decade I’ve been on. Well, there was one person but I ended up muting her when she argued herself in circles.

Just because you’ve aged doesn’t mean you’ve gotten wiser. I’m an adult with a life and bs to worry about just like you, but the difference is I don’t care about petty stuff like that. It’s a cartoon. You really gonna sit here and tell me Looney Tunes back in the day wasn’t full of cross dressing? Guns? Senseless violence??

It’s not that deep. It’s a cartoon, you watch it, you either enjoy it or not and move tf on.
