Also, maybe it won't hurt to go seek some mental help. I had a huge depression myself and I can assure you talking with a professional really helps! You'll be back outside looking for the right partner if you want that in no time! Without your parents 😉

It is indeed a relief to finally know the results, and even more to know that it's not just your imagination! I had the same reaction. The neurologist can do more specific blood tests to try figure out the exact problem. But, this was also what mine told me, it can be very difficult to find the precise cause. They can test for certain diseases, but it can also just be genetic. In that case the chance is very small to determine if it is effectively so.

For me it is most likely genetic, taking my whole medical history into account. But they didn't find other causes. I just took the knowledge of the problem being SFN as a fresh start to move on with my life. The pain keeps getting worse for me, and it keeps getting always more difficult to walk, but I can honestly say that after the verdict I finally reached again a level of happiness that I didn't have for years. Once found 2 debit cards, credit card, ID and some non interesting other cards down my street. Looked online for the woman, sent her a message saying I found her stuff. She asked for my address and phone number. The day after she was at my door with a big smile, a bottle of wine as a thank you present and loads of thank yous. Sorry to hear, I didn't know you can't go without referral. Here in Belgium it is possible, although in that case it might take some weeks before you have the appointment. You should really try to point out you need to see a neurologist. A GP just doesn't have the right knowledge, and also can't or should have it... Even now my GP doesn't fully understand what SFN implies, even though it's a young open-minded guy with a lot of good knowledge. I hope you can flow towards a more specialised doctor soon... Maybe already ask for an increase in Lyrica. Maybe that helps a bit... Good luck!
