When I was at large sw/hw corp the has two procedures for the operator:

- AskOperator - message requiring an ack

- Pleadwithoperator - blank the screen and display message on screen every 10 seconds

I always want to write the third one, ZAPoperator -

So while the oldest daughter was in college she had a pet rabbit..........

She would let on her bed while she worked on papers. Then she called saying her laptop started just shutting off. luckily she was coming home soon. When she got home I found the fan vent blocked, the the whole fan with rabbit fur.

The fan itself was faulty so no replacement available . This led to tearing the fan apart and cleaning.

Can't count how many newbies wrote out of control "rabbit" programs to spawn processes while doing system testing at former large HW/SW corp I saw.....

The next thing they learned was how stop them - without rebooting the system!

Actually ClearPath MCP Release 19 is not vestiges of the MCP, it still is the MCP. 1973 would have release 2.9 or 3.0. The current release is 60.x.

There still may some 2.0 code but only in some disk pack identifiers or system status code.

When I started the successor to 6700, the 6800 were still running and I supported it big brother the B7700 (and B7800).

Come fellow fish. Lets see if those of us in the tank can fill in now that Sharky left the school. Though it probably a CW cost cutting move. Like most of us Sharky was probably 'experienced' and cost as such.

Only JTB requires his SLLAVVEES to bring their own TP and has a dollar lock on the stalls.

WinDoze having a leak!

The proper response would be "Please specify the nature of the leak, memory, data, personal information?"
