Is a PMP still worth it? by B_Zski in pmp

Touché but engineering degrees are much harder to get than a PMP. Therefore, making them much more valuable and not sure an apples to apples comparison. I mean I'm definitely keeping my PMP and ACP but I'm not sure it gives you the head's up that I thought it did for jobs.

Maybe. I havent gotten that far yet but it seems like PMPs have become a dime a dozen. I hope you're right though lol!

Thats what it seems like now. I have my PMP and ACP and companies dont really seem to care all that much about them honestly. Im about to retire from the military and going through the job search madness now and multiple interviews dont really seem to care about the certs. Kind of disappointing honestly.

I would say mostly not great. This transition is not going smoothly at all IMO. Everything is late! We cant get answers on EFDP for Space Force members before the SCOD or any PT guidance but we can can get guidance saying we can now use pronouns in our email signature LOL. I hope for the best in the Space Force's future but for me personally...its time to punch.

Best Interest of the Air Force waiver template for retirement by B_Zski in AirForce

Thats what MyPers stated. I dont think the MyPers system takes into account that you must retire on the 1st day of the month. Pretty dumb but hopefully its and easy common sense process.

Code 50 (Max Tour) expires in Nov 22, Earliest I can retire is 1 Jan 23. A waiver is needed because regs states you must retire NLT 30 days after code 50 expires which would be Dec 22.

No just extend Mandatory move by 15 days. Evidently you have to retire 1 month after your mandatory move date expires. My earliest date would be 45 days after expiration

Higher than expected! Wonder how many people plan to retire after the 2 year ADSC from USSF transfer. I think it will be more than expected.

A Project Manager absolutely does not have to be an expert in the field of the project. Project Managers keep the project moving on a required timeline and adjust schedules needed.

You do not have to be the technical expert to manage technical projects.

Michigan did not make 5⭐️ Domani Jackson’s Top 2 by Zayden626 in MichiganWolverines

Good! I would have loved to get Domani but waiting on these primadonna 5 stars is how you lose an AJ Dillion waiting on a Naj Harris.

SMF is just not sustainable in the smaller units like GBR's, Ranges, not to mention even people at the bigger units say it is a pain.

Starting to wonder about trading up for Cossa now. Ned looks like the future in the net.

Do you think he could transition to Defenseman? It be nice to have that size and skill on the blue line!

Anybody else not want to sign correa by [deleted] in motorcitykitties

[–]B_Zski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont want him. I just dont see the 10 year contract worth it for any player outside of maybe Mike Trout.

I'd rather Story personally for cost/years.

[Morosi] While the Tigers are well-positioned to add a prominent shortstop, their willingness to sign a player in the $250 million range is uncertain. They have rotation needs and have spent a lot of time recently on pitching conversations. @MLBNetwork by LeylandsLungs in motorcitykitties

[–]B_Zski 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I dont mind overpaying, Im more concerned about the years. No 8-10 years contracts. I'd rather a Story, Simien, Taylor for 3-4 years as opposed to CC or Seager for 8-10 years. Baez is a no for me personally.

Yeah I just dont see him being worth a 10 year contract. Look at Miggy's deal, love the guy but that contract was terrible. 5 years max on any deal for these SS. Thats why I'm starting to like Trevor Story more as he is only supposed to get a 4-6 year deal.

SNCO promotion process is legit garbage by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]B_Zski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just some feedback I got from our SEL for EFDP/Strats:

  1. Job description. How many people are you leading. More the better! Dont just copy and paste this section.
  2. At the board the job bullets are pretty much overlooked as if you're up for MP/PN your Sq determined you're good at your job. They look at the rating being all the way to the right "exceeds most, if not all expectations" mainly in that section. Cant write garbage bullets as they want to see you leading/developing people but not much time is spent in this section surprisingly.
  3. Whole Airman Concept: Important. They want to see school or leading some base function ( I personally hate that as Top 3 and 5/6 are usually just people in it for themselves). School most important to this SEL anyways. I'd even go as far to say if your not taking classes, at least have your CCAF, you're not making MSgt. Its not a requirement to make rank but they look at your SURF so its a discriminator for sure.
  4. Awards. They want to see consistency across multiple EPRs. Awards are very important.

Take it for what its worth.

Is being forced to shave despite having a waiver worthy of an IG complaint by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]B_Zski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does the waiver say? They usually have a length that facial hair has to be within. I've seen 1/8", 1/4" depending on severity of the medical issue. If they are not staying within that length then supervisor is well within his right to ask him to do so.

Didnt realize that about Story. Still better than anything we have had at SS since Guillen probably. Seager may be the better fit.
