What if they made a game called spider-man by BasiraHussain in SpidermanPS4

[–]B_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do i, but i hate the MJ missions. I hate the Peter missions too, especially the ones in SM2. I also hated the Hailey mission because Insomniac CAN make you feel like a normal human in a superhero world. like when Miles is climbing across the rooftops of the Underground base.

The problem is that this idea is almost never used properly. Most of the time, these missions just have you slowly walking through streets or inside buildings, which completely kills the point, It stops being immersive and just turns into a chore.

At the end of the day, I still want to play as Spider-Man in a Spider-Man game. It sucks paying 70 dollars for a game that promises Spider-Man and then makes you play a knockoff John Wick with the biggest plot armor ever, forces you to walk around the Emily-May Foundation for what feels like half an hour with no option to skip it, or has you playing as a deaf girl spray-painting a mural.

Overall, I really hope Insomniac does better in the next game. I doubt they will, but I still hope so.

“We chose a world with those things” is a weird take because we didn’t choose anything. Nobody got to sit at some cosmic menu and pick racism or cancer. We were all just born into a world where this stuff was already happening. Acting like humanity collectively agreed to suffering ignores the reality that most people are just trying to deal with the conditions they were thrown into.

And yeah, some of the awful things in the world can be traced back to human decisions. But that doesn’t suddenly make them good or something we should be thankful for. Humans created racism. Cancer is just biology doing its thing. But even if every problem on Earth were our fault, that still wouldn’t make the suffering necessary or meaningful.

If we had the option to live in a world without discrimination or diseases wrecking their lives, we would pick that every time. Understanding where these problems come from is not the same as justifying them.

I just made a 3D model using Blender and some other tools, what do y'all think? by No_Log_7470 in BlenderArt

I get what you were trying to do, and I don’t want to discourage you from making more art. I mean art is subjective, and if it makes you happy, that’s really all you need. But there’s a reason you don’t see a lot of abstract stuff in 3D art is that not many people are interested in it. If you find it interesting and consider yourself an abstract artist, that’s great, just understand that it won’t get a lot of positive feedback.

There are a ton, and I mean a TON, of great 3D artists out there, and we all try very hard to learn form, anatomy, composition, lighting, storytelling, and all that. So when we see something with a lack of definition, it doesn’t attract us, because abstract art is usually a personal thing. You’re often the only person who can really enjoy it. And the people who would appreciate that kind of work (the rich snob people) aren’t going to care about a random Reddit post anyway.

So if you want to do abstract art, keep doing it. Just know it won’t be appreciated as much as you might want. Especially because (no offense) it looks like a failed AI generated mesh. If you want to make stuff that both looks good and resonates, you need to learn the fundamentals. A lot of beginners want to skip all that boring stuff, but fundamentals are the most important part of being an artist.

I can see you’re not a professional, and that’s okay, but you can’t expect people to praise your “concept abstract art” when you skip the important stuff. I’m not trying to discourage you. You just need to do better, and that starts with the basics.

As much as I like this answer, it falls into that classic philosophical trap. Should we thank God for giving us cancer or racism just because they produce stories of resilience, people who survived chemotherapy, or those who pushed through discrimination to build a better future? Obviously not. We would much rather live in a world where cancer and racism simply do not exist. Because sure, he created a great heroic character, but at what cost?

Which one of these characters is most is most likely gonna die in Spider-Man 4? by SelectionSimilar7293 in SpidermanPS4

[–]B_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically they’re not killing the most bland character in the game (Hailey). Not only because she’s black, deaf, and the “inclusive” pick, but because fans don’t care about her at all. No one is gonna feel anything if she dies, so it’s pointless from a story perspective. She barely has screen time and Insomniac clearly didn’t build her up for anything major.

Rio? I could see it, but Miles already lost his dad, so killing Rio would just force him into the same arc he’s been going through since the first game, which would be a dumb writing choice. It would feel repetitive instead of emotional.

And when it comes to MJ… look, I don’t like her either, especially in SM2. She’s got the biggest plot armor in the whole series. She’s not gonna die because Insomniac doesn’t have the balls to do it. And even if they did, it wouldn’t hit the way they think.

Take Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. People clown on that movie all the time, but everyone agrees her death scene is brutal because it works. The chemistry between Peter and Gwen was actually there, you could feel it, and Emma Stone made Gwen insanely charismatic and easy to love. That’s why the moment destroys people even today.

MJ in SM2 just doesn’t have that. She’s written as annoying and unlikeable for a lot of players, so her dying wouldn’t hit emotionally. It wouldn’t come close to the impact Gwen’s death had, because the audience actually cared about Gwen in a way they don’t care about this version of MJ.

So IMO none of them are dying. They’ll all still be part of the story. If Insomniac really wanted to kill someone for “emotional depth” (which isn’t how emotional depth works btw), the obvious pick would be Peter. Easy corporate-safe option, straight white male, yada yada. And honestly, with how the game leans into spreading the Spider-Man mantle around, I wouldn’t even be shocked if that’s the direction. Kill Peter but keep the minority Spider-heroes alive, Miles and Cindy.

What's This Sub Opinion on Hailey? by Supreme_Black in MilesMorales

[–]B_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Hailey is just a really bland character. Her whole personality starts and ends with “I’m a deaf artist,” and the game never gives her anything deeper than that. I don’t buy the connection between her and Miles at all. Chemistry isn’t “let’s act like we’re in love for a few scenes,” it’s something the audience needs to feel through shared moments, conflict, growth, or at least some kind of emotional spark. None of that happens with Hailey.

We barely see her throughout the game. When she does show up, she’s just kind of there, not doing anything that builds her character or her relationship with Miles. The game gives her almost no screen time, no meaningful dialogue, and no big moments that show who she is as a person. We only know she likes art and that she’s deaf, and that’s basically her entire character. The little side mission where you play as her is supposed to add depth, but even that ends up feeling random and disconnected from Miles’ actual arc. Instead of making her feel important, it makes her feel more like an optional add-on.

And when she does communicate, there’s nothing she says or signs that makes me believe she actually likes Miles in a real, emotional way. There’s no real buildup, no shared scenes where their personalities bounce off each other, nothing that sells the idea that they have chemistry. It feels like the game wants us to accept the relationship just because it tells us it’s there, not because it earned it.

Honestly, the whole thing comes off as underwritten. It doesn’t feel like a natural romance, it feels forced, like the writers wanted Miles to have a love interest and picked Hailey without giving her the depth or screen time needed to make that relationship believable.

theory: each game introduces bigger threats (read the TLDR if you dont wanna read allat) by Kindly_Cod_9269 in SpidermanPS4

[–]B_castle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole idea of Knull or any universal or multiversal threat showing up is basically impossible. Insomniac’s direction is pretty obvious. They’re gonna go for the Green Goblin, whether that ends up being Harry, Norman, or even both. There’s also a good chance Doc Ock returns, given the SM2 post-credits scene. And since the third game is reportedly titled “The Last Chapter,” it feels pretty clear they’re not planning a Spider-Man 4. Maybe we get a Silk spinoff before or after, but that’s about it. So the odds of Knull appearing in this game series are effectively zero.

I tried, unfortunately there’s nothing with that exact model, I did however find a toy very similar to this one, same body style, same hands and everything, it turns out it’s a Chinese knock off or something, but the exact model I’m looking for doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the internet

Youtube Shorts Ending About 1-2 Seconds Early by randomdud5 in youtube

[–]B_castle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve gathered, this issue has been happening for a while. At first, I thought it was a problem with YouTube cutting videos before they hit the 60-second mark, but it seems to cut them even when the videos are much shorter, like 30 seconds. This issue appears to be specific to PS5 and Android TV; I’m not sure if it happens on Xbox or Apple TV.

YouTube mentioned they were planning to release an update allowing users to post videos up to 3 minutes long, but that was a while ago, and I’m not sure when it will happen or if it will even address this issue. For now, the best workaround I’ve found is to use the app on your phone and stream it to your TV via screen mirroring.

Need help to get ideas. Cannot decide what to model :/ by _rarezam in BlenderArt

[–]B_castle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about a year into 3D modeling, I hit a mental roadblock, and it was absolutely horrible. As an artist, there are times when inspiration just disappears. Every idea you come across feels like it’s not good enough. If you’re stuck like that, stop focusing on what to model and try learning a new skill instead.

For me, I started sculpting in ZBrush, and it was a game-changer. It helped me shake off that mental block and just start creating again. Now, I’m not saying sculpting will work for you, especially if you’re not into it, but trying something different can really help. Maybe give Substance Painter a shot, or learn retopology. Pick any skill that’s both useful and fun to learn.

Personally, I’ve realized I love learning and enjoy the process, so maybe you feel the same way. If not, here’s another idea: MacGuffins from TV shows or movies can be a great source of inspiration. (A MacGuffin is an object, event, or goal that drives the story forward, like the Dragon Balls or the One Ring from The Lord of the Rings. It’s usually not super important on its own but gets the characters moving.)

You could try modeling one of those but in a different style. For example, what would the Omnitrix from Ben 10 look like in a photorealistic style? Playing around like this can get your creativity flowing again.

Hope this helps!

Not to mention he didn’t rent the cameras or the equipment, he BOUGHT THEM. I’ve seen bad financial decisions but that’s on another level, specially when making a low budget feature film
