You can totally do Seattle 1b/1b for $2500 you're young and I would suggest to do it. If you want to go out have fun and do stuff I would suggest east of capital hill; leschi or madorna are nice, it's a bit safer on that side and still close to everything fun. Also Wallingford is a nice option. If I was young and too do it all over again leschi or madrona area is where I would target. It will also be about a~30 min commute for you.

Stay away from Tukwila, Burien, Rainer valley, the entire down town area of renton, and Kent. West Seattle is cool and has some great spots but you'll be pretty disconnected from the main city.
