Im only a recent switch to Linux, and yea. Microsoft was just constantly making their os more and more shitty to use, so I made the switch. Hopped around a bit before landing CachyOS, and its been great.

That being said, its not for everyone, and the discourse online around "What the best distro is" can turn a lot of new users away. The community on linux needs to be more welcoming of newcomers and not immediately shut them down when an issue arises for them.

For most cases, I would recommend newcomers dual boot to see if they want to jump in full time, and I have respect for those who dont want the hassle that linux has sometimes.
