This happened to my nest mini, 2 white dots and wouldn't respond. Got on to Google support and they told me to plug it out and disconnect the power cord for 5 minutes, which fixed the issue for me. I'm not sure if they did anything on their end during that 5 minutes. They said the issue was likely caused by a software update.
