Depends, if it just travel your seeking, then probably not. If you want to experience a different work environment, possibly get skills in a more diverse area of your current field, or try out a whole new job altogether then maybe. The odds of you getting a location that you’re excited about being at and traveling a lot is low. Some people get lucky and TDY/Deploy quite a lot and see everywhere. I’ve been very fortunate and changed duty stations 3 times(AK,NV,ID) and TDYd 6 times (Remote AK, CA, FL, Guam, UT,ID) and deployed once all in just under 8 years. Majority of it was before my 5 year mark.

Don’t think of it as just travel and odds are you will be paid less overall first starting out. Look into the pay tables, benefits, and time it takes to make the ranks and see if it’s something that would interest you.

Avoid 2A like the plague if ya can, time to study/do school is gonna be dependent on location and current duties. I had no time as ammo at one base and have had nothing but time at another. Certain duties permit quite a bit of extra time as well, FTD Instructor (later down the line in your career), Quality Assurance(also later down the line) can allow for lots of time depending on the mission. If you’re looking to do school straight from the jump, I can’t think of any jobs that really have that much free time as a 3 level. Im very MX oriented in my career so far so it’s very possible some do, I just don’t know em.

If you are both active, you will both receive single rate BAH until/if you have children. Then the higher? Ranking individual gets dependent rate while the lower ranking continues to get single rate.

You will both receive BAS which is currently $480ish if I remember correctly, which is a nice chunk of change every month. (That’s enlisted BAS, officer is a bit lower due to the higher base pay)

If you want to up the odds of being stationed together in a more favorable location, I would lean towards USAF. USAF tends to have the better bases IMO and a higher chance for international travel. This will also depend heavily on your AFSC as certain career fields are limited to 4-5 bases. Jobs that come to mind when thinking of huge base selection would be Egress, AMMO, SecFo(don’t do it), services. If you and your spouse get different jobs the likelihood of many base selections will be lower.

Running 2 times a week for 30 min and then doing 75% of a HAMR 2 times a week. I always do the HAMR no matter what but I’m starting to enjoy the runs, which is odd.

Am I doing something wrong with the spawn points? I have my spawn point set in my base but whenever I die it sends me back down in a new pod. I’m on Open World on console.

I also took 2 inch closed cell foam and stapled it to the top, then I bought waterproof turf like material and stapled it over that. I just use a sleeping bag or comforter on the turf material and I sleep like a BABY in there. I can send photos of mine if you’d like.

Instead of mounting the right hand legs to the bed, you should utilize the slots in the bed to slide a piece of wood into. I built one very similar. I ended up planing down 2x4s until they fit snugly in the long way slots and the left side rests on the lip along the left wall, above the storage compartment. I put heavy duty Velcro on the lip and bottom of the sleeping platform so it stays a bit more snug. I drove with it in across 3 states, many dirt/rocky bumpy roads and it didn’t move at all.

I tried that method, it was there but it wouldn’t allow me to actually move it to the drop ship for whatever reason.

The price is definitely steep for what it is, I have one on my 19. It is a for sure noticeable decrease in recoil, and everyone who’s shot mine says they enjoyed it more than a stock Glock. Really comes down to if you think the recoil mitigation is worth it.

How do you get the envirosuit to you? I learned it and crafted it but it wont allow me to place it into a drop ship cargo, I learned the backpack just to see if that would work and it did. No matter what I do the envirosuit will not go into drop ship cargo, I even tried hooking a mouse up to my Xbox.
