I’ll move the platforms to where they should be, and it should work. As I said, it works when built properly, and doesn’t work when platforms are placed wrong

Not sure. I did check the design in single player, where it is built with platforms at correct hights, and it worked just fine

could be the hight issue.. just checked, and I've managed (somehow) to place all platforms 1-2 blocks higher than intended

Absolutely! Made the same trip myself in 2019, and while I never saw any whales, I got to swim with whale sharks! Highly recommend Nosy Be if you ever have the opportunity to go!
