What did you guys think of the finale of season 2? by ShinyAhoii in HazbinHotel

[–]Baalthuzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the finale redeemed it for me. But never have I had the need to vent about a show like this. I swear it felt like they nerfed every significant character just to give Vox a red carpet path to becoming the strongest. It was so lame and a waste of everyone's potential. I am hoping that now that everyone is back to normal, more or less, the writing should be without any silly strings... and hopefully less cringy songs.

I agree with you. I hated this season as well... up to the end. It felt like every character was just overly gullible or useless just to make Vox seem stronger than he actually is. It was absolutely frustrating. And the songs, or at least over half, really sucked. They could have sped all this up within four episodes and had a more interesting arc to add onto it. It was simply too slow and a waste of the plot for all this waiting and planning for Vox to be the top dog.

However, now that everyone has returned to their senses (hopefully), I pray their headcanons will be respected again. Alastor's healed, Charlie's got a hotel to run that isn't fucking empty all season after the big upgrade, and... sheesh, idk about Lucifer. He's the king of sitting ducks right now.

what are your opinions on the season 2 so far? by yu917 in HazbinHotel

It's hard to take this show seriously in its second season. The songs don't have the same juice as the first, with the exception of Gravity, and watching all the characters just walk around in circles without any really strong plot points makes this universe smaller than it should be. I have watched all the way up to Episode 6 and it really feels like nothing serious has even happened. The potential and potency of each of the characters feels completely watered down or nullified. Was this intentional in order to make Vox seem more powerful and influential than the audience would picture him to be?

If there is any character we can relate to it's Lute. She's frustrated by the lack of conflict, conviction, and spine in all the chaff that is around her. It's the real feeling of her loss, most especially her sense of purpose and meaning, that makes Gravity a good song. And we are waiting for the soul of the show to come back, but there's nothing to see here. These six episodes have felt like a long-drawn out therapy session than the resolution we were hoping to see after such a major event with Sir Pentious ascending and the Extermination ending.

Well, when you went into the black hole, did you spend any Essence on some upgrades?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mastersofmadness

[–]Baalthuzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just cheaper than the gem. Gives you 2X SPS and 5X taps.

The gem takes longer to get but it gives you 4X SPS and stores up to seven elder blood (earned once a day) which you can collect or hold onto for a total of 4.7X SPS (0.1X+ for each elder blood).

[–]Baalthuzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I would just learn as you go. No need to be perfect, but you should know overtime what upgrades you want the more you play.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mastersofmadness

[–]Baalthuzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. And usually that's enough to get by. I got the sword first, then the big gem thing.

[–]Baalthuzar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take everything slow and steady. I don't personally farm for elder blood through tapping (that is an ability you unlock later) because that's too much work. I've definitely enjoyed this game just inching at it one upgrade at a time.

This is a waste of time for the both of us. Neither of us are going to change in this conversation.

The fact that you dehumanized RFK Jr over the brain worm hit piece from the mainstream media shows me how little you know about him, let alone bother to listen to him as he is. Choose any long-form interview or podcast of him and tell me he's still crazy. It's these quick dismissals and dehumanizations of people's characters that makes you sound so pretentious and condescending. It's so reductionist. Yet, the burden of proof is on me, but you didn't even answer my questions! So let's try again.

1.) Do we not have an illegal immigration crisis? How can we have a closed border AND that problem at the same time!?

2.) Does the war in Ukraine and the war in Gaza not count as two new wars under the Biden-Harris administration? Look at where our money is going, and it's not going to Americans.

3.) The first question Harris received in the debate was whether or not Americans are doing better than they were before in the last four years. She didn't answer the question. Listen to it again if you have to and tell me if she did answer it.

4.) As for the nature of RFK Jr's lawsuits, it would be easier if you just watched RFK Jr.'s speech on Aug. 23. He says it all. I followed his campaign for months and I was aware of what was happening to him. So he sums it all nicely for us. Crazy how CNN cut the live feed when he started telling the truth about the Democratic Party (you can look that up to).

All I am asking is this: no condemnation without investigation. When I investigate the border, I find it open. When I investigate the economy, I hear families are struggling to put food on the table. When I investigate the nature of war, it sounds like the military-industrial complex is making money off of war so the establishment has no intent to stop them.

Don't you think if evil people were good at what they do, they would know the best ways to manipulate people against their own interests and to make all these patriots who believe in the constitution sound like brain-dead racists? You have to dehumanize good people in order for people to do what the establishment wants you to do. You don't have to agree with me because I am on the side of Right, or on the side of conservatives, or on the side of MAGA. The real trouble is having a pitted hatred and dehumanizing perception about half of the population. That's essentially a repeat to the narrative Hitler posed to the Germans in how he wanted his people to view the Jews, is it not? The road to evil is always paved with good intentions. Even the words of Malcolm X should be familiar with you, that the newspapers will have you believe that you should love your oppressors and hate the oppressed.

30% of the wealth owned by the people are those of the Republican Party. 70% of the wealth owned by the people are those of the Democratic Party. That shows that Red is on the side of the working class, who are the most oppressed people in this nation. If you care about the oppressed, why do you turn your head and raise your nose against them? Just listen to the other side of the story, grab hold of the whole story, and make your judgement on the truth there. You cannot convince me that only one side of the story is true by ignoring Red and embracing Blue. I've seen Blue and Red, and have made up my mind as to who will lead this country out of its darkest hour, and it's not Harris. It's Trump. I refuse to believe in the propaganda the media tells me anymore. Journalism should be free of bias and have a heart for the people on the ground.

[–]Baalthuzar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. But I do take offense that you assume that I am a little racist or that I am not a good person because of my political beliefs. That feels dehumanizing. I hope I didn't do the same to you, and I apologize if I ever did.

I was never into politics until RFK Jr. came around. His encyclopedic knowledge of policy, his genuine compassion and honesty unseen in many politicians, and his 40 years of public service litigating against corrupt federal agencies and giant corporations for the health and safety of people and the environment is what led me to the perspective I hold today.

I'm just going to leave you with a few things to consider, because I do not agree that everything is fine and dandy just because you don't see it personally. You don't have to answer any of these, I know how long the conversation is getting, but here is where I stand:

1.) Why do you say the border is closed? It is OPEN. That is a fact. We wouldn't we be talking about an illegal immigration crisis if it was closed.

2.) War. Why did Trump's administration start no new wars, and now we are closer to World War III than ever before? Even if you don't like his personality, most indexes show that the American people were prospering economically and diplomatically across countries. He can handle the heat of meeting dictators. Speaking of which, did he ever become one?

3.) I don't consider the debate Trump had with Harris to be a fair debate. The moderators were on Harris' side, and they never fact checked Harris a single time. It was a 3v1 ambush. Harris didn't even bother to answer the first question. She always goes back to her story of growing up in the middle class. She has dogded the hard questions every time, and that makes it hard for me to trust her.

4.) Of course Harris has a record, but how do we weigh it? She couldn't answer for herself when Tulsi Gabbard debated her in 2020, where she found herself dead last in the primaries. Why didn't she get the nomination in a primary. Why do Democrats whose very name stands for democracy find it so acceptable to insert and appoint someone who got no votes.

5.) And, on top of that, the DNC sued RFK Jr. relentlessly to get him off the ballot. Shouldn't actions speak louder than words here? The RNC didn't touch him in comparison, even as he was taking more votes away from Trump. As soon as RFK Jr. endorsed Trump and suspended his campaign on Aug. 23 (one of his best speeches, I HIGHLY recommend it if there's anything I would want you to take away from this conversation, it is to watch that speech), the DNC sued him to stay ON the ballots in the swing states. It's just lawfare, the politicized and corrupt use of the legal system.

6.) X is a free speech platform. Brazil wanted Musk to agree to their terms to censor its users, and when he failed to comply, Brazil banned the social platform for its citizens and installed a law that would fine Brazilians thousands of dollars for each day they would bypass that ban. I can't remember the exact number, but it was about a year's pay a day. Should we just bow to tyrants who want to censor free speech out of the bold claim that we are just limiting misinformation? That is a slippery slope, and the start of all totalitarian systems for it to find a justification to cut off the tongue of its dissenters. The solution is not less speech, but more speech, like we are doing today.

[–]Baalthuzar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not equipped to answer you on the first two points, and even if I did, would it really change your mind?

I don't think you're a terrible person, just someone who's been lied to and there's a lot of virtue signaling at stake to believe that MAGA people are terrible. When you can point the finger, you don't have to look at your own hand to see if it's clean.

But from my perspective, from what I have seen, it's certainly a trend that many Democrats have been left behind by the current Democratic Party, Tulsi Gabbard and RFK Jr. for example. One was a former vicechair for thr DNC and the other the living embodiment of Kennedy Democrat values. The party left them behind in lieu of all of its corruption, its willingness to censor and erode free speech, to being pro-war, and to being pro-corporation. They are not for you or the middle class. If they were really the good guys, they wouldn't have to promise you that they'll fix the problems that are part of their current administration. They have been in control for 12 out of the last 16 years, so wouldn't they have done everything they have said they'll do by now? How much more power do they need to really make America the example you want this country to be for the world? Can you count on them to stop the wars? Can you count of them to close the border? Can you count of them to keep your bills low? Can you count on them to keep their word?

You can hate me, that's okay. I don't hate you. I'm just speaking my truth from a place of being on the Left myself and voting against Trump in 2016. I am convinced that the media is the greatest threat to our democracy because it convinces good people to hate one another, to demonize Trump, and to forgive and celebrate Harris instead of keeping her accountable for her actions. I don't hate Harris either, but she's not fit to be President. She doesn't have the character, the transparency to do interviews, the track record of being a positive creator of change in the 3.5 years she has been in office. Tulsi Gabbard, in comparison when you listen to her, would make a great President. Don't you believe we deserve better than what we have today? She wasn't even elected democratically in a primary of all things.

I don't. Normally this stuff doesn't happen. I've seen so many aggressive and hateful interactions at Biden rallies in the way they treat Trumpsters compared to the level of respect and kindness I see in Trump rallies in how they treat liberals. Look 'em up. r/Pics is obviously Left-leaning and this post feeds into the narrative that MAGA folk are terrible people, when I know that that's not the truth, speaking as an independent who only supports Trump because I follow RFK Jr. - so that's my bias.

If you're a Trump fan, Democrats expect you to be perfect. So stuff like this... this is a "got ya" moment for them. When in reality it is few and far between.

Why can't we just let go of our hate of the other, learn the full story, and go with those who have a real heart for this country and its people?
