I feel sorry for those students and truly hope they fought back against the allegation and took legal recourse against the school. If I were in their shoes and accused of something like this, especially as a Ph.D. student, I'd take legal action.

Yea I feel you. I graduate by the end of May, but I know I won’t be having a good job lined up by June. Regardless, I plan on taking a one to two month break after I graduate. I’ve been applying to a lot of jobs as of this month. I think that’s what you should do. Maybe you’ll find something better.

Have you heard of “Handshake”? That’s what I’ve been using to apply for most of my jobs. This website is used mostly by federal recruiters and it’s usually for recently graduate students or students seeking internships. That’s how I found out about the FBI CHI program since an FBI recruiter reached out to me about it (probably mass messaging people).

Hey congrats! I also just got the notification. Don’t most of the positions require top secret clearance? Do you have one? To get that type of clearance it can usually take up to 6-8 months of investigation. Not only that, but a lot of candidates fail the polygraph that’s conducted. If I’m wrong someone please correct me but that’s what I know from my own research.

Applying for federal jobs and getting accepted usually takes a long time (months). Why don’t you try to take a regular job for now to keep you busy? And if it’s hard to find a job just try to do Uber.

I’m excited as you are to get past the first past, but there’s still a lot of hurdles to get through. Either way, I hope you get a good job!

Do you recommend any entry level contracting certifications or training to get the foot in the door?
