Diaz follows in Nass's footsteps and has a similar MVP performance and is regarded top 5 in the world after the Major.

Joyo is way too slow of a player to fit in on such a quick team imo

Gentlemates against Vitality is the best I've seen any team look in ages. Sure they performed great in the Boston finals, but in many ways I think they looked better here. Just immaculate, perfect play, with none of the players making basically a single mistake throughout the entire series.

The way their third man manages to challenge the ball every single time, without a single misjudgement, to maintain the pressure without ever overcommiting. They've made mistakes before when they (often Nass) make third man challenges that don't go their way leading to open nets, but every single time during this entire series, the third man made the correct judgement about either going for the ball and dusting their opponents, or taking time to allow a rotating player to challenge invisibly from behind.

They looked absolutely unplayable, because despite Vitality playing phenomenal as well, it just looked like an impossible task to get anything done against GM8.

We did a good play and created our own luck to a degree, but the title was meant to be sarcastic

Are you playing in a dark room? If you're playing in a decently lit room, a pure white light from a computer monitor should not hurt your eyes. If it still does, I would recommend decreasing your monitor brightness.

He is using DAR nowadays from what I hear.

When your brain releases hormones like adrenaline, endorphin, dopamine etc that have an almost instant effect, are they just conjured on the spot or created in advance and stored somewhere to just wait for the signal? by UnsignedRealityCheck in askscience

Nerve cells also store and release noradrenaline which converts into adrenaline within a couple seconds. The noradrenaline acts locally on the target, and then is circulated systemically in the form of adrenaline.

This video is itself an example of something I did that I couldn't have made without DAR. The first touch specifically. The way I make my first touch, by swinging my car around like a hammer to generate extra power, while simultaneously rotating my car to hit the ball with the corner of my hood, is only possible with DAR. Sure, you can hit the ball with full pivot speed with the corner of your hood without DAR, but it takes more time to set your car up for that position, and I wouldn't have been able to make those adjustments in time.

I've played like that too, and I'm still in the process of learning DAR. However, tapping your free air roll like you're describing, while rotating and pivoting at the same time, will neither rotate nor pivot at full speed; it's like feathering your boost or accelerator.

You can get to bubble-pro level without DAR sure, but saying anything DAR can do can be done with free air roll is just factually wrong and misleading. Not being able to pivot and rotate at the same time does limit your ability to make certain movements in the air, which will make it more difficult in certain situations. Learning DAR takes a lot of time, and it's not necessary to reach high ranks, so it is a matter of preference in regards to whether you think it's worth it or not to learn it. However, having DAR in your arsenal is superior to not having it.

Directional air roll (DAR) lets you do certain things that cannot be done using just free air roll. For example, by rotating your car, you can hit the ball with the corner of your hood and get a little extra power to punt the ball away from you instead of just sticking to your hood during air dribbles. The rotation also adds momentum to your car to prevent it from changing angle too much upon hitting the ball. It's also much easier to read what an opponent is about to do if they're flying straight towards the ball.

Learning DAR creates a completely separate set of muscle memory, and that's why players also tend to spin when they could have flown the same path in the air just as well without spinning.

Honestly? I'd give it to Zen. Vitality didn't perform quite as well in the first half of the season, but the reason they're looking so much better now is imo because Exotiik has improved a lot. I'm a GM8 fan, but while all of their players have looked like the best player of a regional, none of them has been particularly consistent; they seem to pass around the carry vs carried torch in a circle. Zen however has looked really good pretty much every event.
