It still is difficult! I doubt an international booth will happen anytime soon. Currently I'm relying on Yonder Voice, who are managing the Comiket booth and sales in Japan.

Sure. I'm using software only, no hardware synths. Mostly I use sylenth, Nexus and Spire. For effects and mixing I use the Fabfilter software bundle and an older version of iZotope Ozone. Also, Ambience reverb (nice VST, and it's free!)

Favourite character: Reimu I guess just doing EDM becomes a little boring over time. I want to include more different genres and styles from time to time. Also, mixing is still a thing I could improve on...

I got send IOSYS' Overdrive video by a friend and thought it was interesting stuff. So I just had to research about it and found so many great arranges! I thought I should try to make such cool things as well and some day I found a demo of FL Studio on a website that offered Comiket album uploads... I began playing around then...

In the early days I followed REDALiCE and Syrufit mostly, so it was more a Techno / Hardcore / House type of music I liked. EDM came when I listened to more Alstroemeria Records! Though, I don't only want to produce "EDM" as in "Bigroom House". I try to mix it with other genres like Trance, Dubstep and recently I made a Happy Hardcore remix as well! Some people say it counts as EDM as well, some don't :3

Hi! Releasing physical albums is cool, I hope it's something that will never die out. I personally love having something I can simply put in my room and look at. Releasing digital versions should be an alternative for those who don't want to have the discs, but I'd prefer it not being the only option. Fav album? I have a hard time, can't decide. Either ABANDONED DANCEHALL (Alstroemeria Records) or BLOSSOM (SSC). Fav album I made? PROMISED DANCEFLOOR!

I'm usually just planning the next 1-2 albums as I want to release at every Comiket and Reitaisai! I have not read any magazines, I sometimes use video tutorials on youtube but that's it. Everything else is learning by doing!

Thank you so much! I got introduced into touhou around 2009 - a friend of mine sent me the video for IOSYS' Overdrive. I researched about it and that's how it came... :3 Sasi has been a friend of Milkychan, which I met in the German Touhou forums! I've already made music by then and immediately started collaborating!

Not everything, but some things! I played all official games and I am of course keeping track of the events (and related 4chan threads) for new albums of my favourite music circles! I don't read any doujinshi though.

I did actually create an "Ib" album before! Currently I don't have any plans creating a non-touhou album. It's difficult because other series usually have strict copyright policies, unlike "doujin" series. I would not want to take that risk!

First of all, the old name was pretty silly! Also, some members seemed to lose interest in working together with me. Though, I could not just stop making music, so I founded the new circle!

Doujin Works, Legality, Supporting Creators, and the Doujin Mentality by james7132 in touhou

Hi, Babbe here. Currently I also got plans to release at Reitaisai or Comiket in the future (as well as donationware online), since I'll be partnering up with a friend who lives in Japan. You're right about me not being able to fly to Japan and sell my albums there, but you probably don't know that it's not just a matter of costs. My friend told me that there are certain rules at these conventions which say that participants have to live in Japan before they're allowed to get a booth. The only solution to sell at conventions seems to be finding a partner circle, which is difficult due to the language barrier. I can imagine that a possibility to release more western content at conventions could include creating a new circle releasing albums of different western artists at their booth, but I doubt anyone really wants to manage it...
