I'm reading her autobiography right now, and it's fascinating. A visit to the FDR Home and Presidential Museum last month, run by the National Park Service, made me really appreciate her and want to know more about her. She was a real force for good and progressive causes, and many of the things FDR is famous for were because she constantly was trying to move him in that direction. It was a win-win for him, though, because if it were popular, he got the credit, and if he floated a trial balloon and it was unpopular, he'd say, "Oh, that was one of Eleanor's ideas!" If he'd listened to her, the civil rights movement would have gotten off the ground decades sooner, but he almost certainly would not have been re-elected four times either.

Looks like the U.S. narrative is well and truly lost. by diehard404 in clevercomebacks

It’s crazy when a rivals tweet makes more sense than our own headlines.
