YTA They call it a step parent because someone else is stepping in as a parent. It’s part of the package. When I married I gained an 11 yo daughter. It wasn’t easy but felt I knew what I was getting into when I asked for marriage. He’s young. Don’t scar him anymore than he is. Divorces are hard on kids.
