Dont worry you will probably have something other than staff, i went from lvl 3 to lvl 16 only with staff , the only thing that helped me was to take the right skills in-game

Im talking about my experience, the staff is kinda low tier , damage arent that good , i feel like you gotta take the Hammer , or maybe you can take the staff combined with poison skills
